Wonderful trip sir
I am also leaving for Kalam within these 2/3 days can you pls guide me on following matters

1- Any budget hotel recommendation in Kalam ?
2- Trek time to Boyon village return ?? is it worth visiting ?
3- per head availability of jeeps for Mahudund and Utror ?? we are 2 guys only so renting whole jeep will cost too much.
4- availability of camping stuff on rent in Kalam as we want to camp at Mahudand for 1 night ??
5- Trek time to Kondol lake ??
6- PTCL EvO or Vwireless signal in Kalam ?

1) we stayed in hotel which cost as 2500 for 8 persons room as it was start of the season but hotels there have reasonable rents as compared to other places. we stayed in Pameer Hotel
2)boyoun is very nice place to visit the trek time we took was 3 hours and on return much lesser time and it is worth is for sure

3) jeep to mahudand took 4500 it was for 8 persons for a round trip and transport is available for 2 persons will be much more less as local transport is available for mahudand. As far as utror is concerned jeep cost was 2500 but it should be much less for 2 persons on Toyota hatch back or local transport.

4) no camping stuff is available for rent in kalam. where as there are lots of camps setup for rent on Mahudand.

5) As per current situation of trek took us 8 hours to reach there as we were mostly first timers.

6) i dunt think there is any PTCL evo Signal in KAlam. Mobilink and Zong works but not 100% in kalam

And u have already got the answers from @salsh above.

There shouldn't be rush in Kalam like Murree or Naran so hotels will be reasonable and if u reach there during weekdays then may be u will find Kalam quite low profile.

Byun is a wonderful place and a must visit !!!

Our guide hopped on the backside of our jeep and we moved ahead towards Utror.

During the way, he kept on collecting porters from different locations and home and by the time we reached Utror bazar there were 5 people hanging around the jeep

Nature contrasts

Left side river is formed with streams of Izmis and Kundol while right side river is coming from Gabral.

The reddish stream is coming from Izmis as water of Kundol was clear white

Just after the junction above, there is a bridge over Gabral river and we turned left to cross the bridge and enter Utror.

This is main Utror bazar

The straight road goes to Gabral and before Gabral there is a point from where jeep track to Dir Valley starts.

Just towards left of this view is a small down turn which goes towards Laddu.

On my left is a mosque where we stopped to gather remaining porters and start packing for the trek.
