Wounderful thread and trip! It was pleasure reading and watching the images. I really liked the images and your write up just adds amazing flavour. Your food choices are wounderful. We usually try to be as economical as possible with rooms and meals during our road trip - but perhaps yours is the way to go with, budget permitting!!!

@SAV123 Thank you for the amazing feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed reading my posts and the pictures as much as I enjoyed putting them together for you in the form of this thread. I have learnt to record my experiences from following the many gurus on Pakwheels and I enjoy sharing them with nice people like you. For us as a family, food is an integral part of our trips and the accommodation must be comfortable with as many creature comforts as possible and if it means spending a little extra so be it...it all adds up to making the trip memorable for the family. Nothing wrong with spending wisely or being economical or at times spending a little extra. You can still achieve what you set out to do as long as you've done your homework.

Hi There. Can you please confirm if the Rest Areas on Sukkur-Multan Motorway M-5 are now functional. Also, please confirm the availability of Fuel Stations on M-5. Last Year in December Mid, I travelled through this motorway and had a terrible experience with regards to the quality of Fuel that I refilled in my car before getting on the motorway. Back then, there were no petrol pumps on M-5.

Hello @junaid.siddiqui84 Early days for the rest areas on M5. Basic structures are up but not all are operational. Fuel maybe available but I didn't stop for fuel at any of the service areas. However, toilets, tuck shops, some food outlets and masjids are functional. My advise is to fuel up before you get on M5 either from Multan or Rohri. We fueled up at PSO Bedal pump at Rohri and Shell at Shah Shums Tabrez exit, Multan and didn't face any issues with quality whatsoever.

Salam Khalid bhai, M.Ali @sprite here. This is my new pw.id .Old profile got stuck so I was out of touch at forum for a couple of years.
You again, with your amazing and energizing thread. You provided us courage to drive to Islamabad, onwards by car. And now we are used to it.
Beautiful thread again. Unfortunately the terrible part of this whole drive is Sukkur to Hyderabad patch. It's still a nightmare and I think it will take at least 4 more years for a motorway on this portion.

Once the Hyderabad - Sukkur motorway is operational, it will make driving a real pleasure. Having said that, my recent experience on N5 was good. However, my only concern is M9 from Hyderabad to Karachi as it was literally a free for all and a horror show and specially when we were entering Sohrab Goth area I felt really disappointed to see the state of affairs and neglect.

Anyways, Khalid bhai, will you mind sharing the total and expected expense occurred in total in this trip?
Breakup like how much spent on Fuel, how much on hotels, motels, toll taxes etc.

also guide us, if instead of Raees Khaana, we opted for low price accommodation, then approximately how much will we be able to save on pockets?

I am also planning to do trip by road. As by Air is not affordable at all for me so by road will be the preferable option but even that one will require big bunch of budget so your little guidance in this regard will also be required.

Seeing photos and reading about your family road trip was so interesting. I don't remember the last time I traveled with my family. My parents are always busy at work. I usually travel alone or with my friends. Btw, the previous trip with my best friend is a journey to remember. We decided spontaneously to visit Bangkok. Luckily we found reasonable offers on https://www.freetour.com/bangkok, packed a few things, and got on the road. We visited the city center and had a bike tour. There were three amazing days!
