I am back with Day 7 of our road trip.
We had agreed to depart right after Fajar so that our approach into Karachi is around 7:30pm. Everyone was up on time and after offering fajar we were on our way home. Fueled up just before hitting motorway that would take us to Sukkur. 2 hours in to our journey, we stopped at a rest area to have breakfast of chai, anda and paratha. The rest areas on M5 are still very basic.
We reached the PSO Bedal petrol station at around 11:15am. I took a much needed power nap while the others had to wait and enjoyed a strong cup of doodh patti. About 45 minutes later, we were back on N5. Can’t wait for the M6 Sukkur Hyderabad motorway to be completed…the drive up and down will be seamless and will save a lot of time.
From Sukkur, N5 took us to Hyderabad bypass and onwards to M9. At around 6pm, we stopped right after the M9 toll plaza for a much-needed break and some strong chai. We continued our journey on M9 and the drive into Karachi was uneventful. From Sohrab Goth, we connected to the Lyari Expressway. We were stuck in traffic at the ICI signal...finally arrived home at 8:30pm. Shukar Alhamdolillah!
By the grace of Allah swt, our 7-day road trip experience was like no other. We adapted and dealt with the situation as it presented itself to us. Shukar Alhamdolillah! We took all the necessary precautions keeping Covid-19 in mind, masks, gloves, sanitizer, alcohol wipes and Dettol solution etc. May Allah swt protect us all and keep us all safe and in HIS protection always. Ameen!
Jazaakh Allah Khair for bearing with me on these updates. I hope my updates helped refresh memories of your trips and inspired those who are planning one. I am of the opinion that the best way to see our beautiful country is by road and a road trip with family and/or friends is unforgettable.
Here are some snaps for your viewing pleasure.
