7-Day tour from Islamabad to Khunjerab Pass | Timelapse Video and 360 Photos Linked

As-salam-u-Alaikum fellow PakWheels members,

A group of 10 people planned a tour to Khunjerab Pass from Islamabad beginning from July 13, 2017 to July 23, 2017. The 7 Day tour include places Naran, Lake Saif-ul-Mulook, Lulusar Lake, Babusar Top, Attabad Lake, Hunza Valley(Forts and Eagle's Nest), Passu Cones, Fairy Meadows, Khunjerab Pass.

The total charges per head faced were ~15550/-

Our ride: Automatic Hi-Roof 2016 Model with 6,500/night charges.

Here is our day wise schedule:

Day 1:
Departure from Islamabad 12:00 AM
Breakfast at Naran
Brief Stay at Naran to give driver some rest.
Departure from Naran 1:00 PM
Brief Stay at Babusar Top
Reach Nanga Parbat view Hotel Raikot at 10:00PM
Dinner and Night Stay at hotel

Day 2:
Breakfast 06:00 AM
Departure for Fairy Meadows Jeep Point, Charges 7000/- one way
Arrival at Tattu village at 9:00AM
Arrival at Fairy Meadows 12:00PM for Half squad, 2:00PM for the other half
Explore Fairy Meadows
Night Stay at Fairy Meadows in own camp. Charges = 500/- for camp setup place, 300/head for food.
Bonfire at Fairy Meadows

Day 3:
Start trek at 7:00AM
Trek back to Tattu Village 9:00AM
Back to van from jeep at 12:30PM (Late due to land sliding)
Lunch at Jaglot 2:30PM
Departure for Hunza
Arrival at Karimabad 5:00PM
Dinner and Night Stay at Karimabad

Day 4:
Departure for Khunjerab Pass 8:00AM
Breakfast at Sost 10:00PM
Arrival at Khunjerab Pass 12:30PM
Departure from Khunjerab 1:30PM
Lunch at Sost
Brief Stay at Passu Cones
Brief stay at Attabad Lake 5:00PM
Back to Karimabad 8:00PM
Stroll around the Bazar
Dinner and Night stay at Karimabad

Day 5:
Departure for Baltit Fort 9:00AM
Explore Baltit Fort
Departure for Altit Fort 11:30AM
Explore Altit Fort
Departure for Eagle's Nest 2:00PM
Arrival at Eagle's Nest 4:30PM (van couldn't handle the height so some people had to hike)
Explore Eagle's Nest
Night Stay and Dinner at Eagle's Nest (Camping 2000/camp)

Day 6:
Enjoy sunrise at Eagle's Nest 4:00AM
Departure for Naran 7:00AM
Lunch at Gilgit
Arrival at Naran 7:00PM
Night stay and BBQ at Naran

Day 7:
Departure for Saif-ul-Mulook 8:00AM, Jeep charges 5000/- both ways
Arrival at Lake 9:30AM
Stay at Lake 1 Hour
Departure for Islamabad 11:30AM
Lunch at Balakot 2:30PM
Arrival at Islamabad 11:00PM (due to heavy traffic)

The tour was exquisite and would have been much exciting if we had visited Rama Meadows and Naltar Valley which at the least require 2 extra days.

Some amendments were made to the original plan, but the north is unpredictable hence the changes.

We didn't take alot of pictures of the scenery as we were focused on the Timelapse and the 360 photos. The video and the 360 spell out the beauty of these places.

Can you please share details of the hotels in Karimabad, Naran where you stayed and what were their Charges?

In Karimabad we stayed at Old Hunza Inn, next to Serena. We booked a hall for 11 people and the charges were 3800 per night. For lunch they had their menu which wasn't quite up to the standards, but then again who visits Hunza for food. And they also had Wi-Fi but it was slower than Edge. If you want 3G there, get an SCO sim from Aliabad. Hotels with rooms with 2 beds at most seemed expensive with 2500 per night charges. So try to get a hall if there's more than 6 people.

in Naran, we didn't actually book an hotel. We stayed in camp which was discounted because the owner was a friend. I'd recommend booking outside of Naran, like 10-15 mins drive from Naran, as rates are quite high. Naran is mostly camping so it wouldn't be that expensive.
