7th Gen Civic (2005) decreasing engine oil 125k on odo

Salam,

i bought a 125K driven 2005 Honda Civic Vti Oriel Manual last month.

upon purchase i have literally spent a fortune on changing all the lubes and consumables like brake pads, tires, belts, all the fluid, coolant.

i also change the engine oil and poured in Liqui Moly 10W40. bought a 4L gerry can and poured in 3.5L in the system along with change of Oil Filter.

Now the thing is upon my every saturday routine inspection i saw decreased oil on the Dipstick, the oil level was between the Two holes in the dipstick.

Bear in mind the car does not smoke at all and in desi language it has a water throwing engine (literally).

what could be the reason? upon researching on internet, youtube suggest its a bad PCV valve.

but whereas after consulting some mechanics they said that use 20W50 (thicker oil) and it might resolve the isssue? is that true?

thing is i still have half litre of Liqui Moly oil at home, i can put it in the car and bring the level of the oil back to full. and i dont want to waste 3000 rupees of oil by getting rid of it and then buy 20W50 for another 3000 rupees

can anyone please suggest me a peaceful solution? Help me out pakwheelers

**well today i checked the dipstick again and apparently the level of oil was at exact the max DOT of dipstick **

Thing is when the car is SUPER COLD, it shows oil level at MAX DOT on the dipstick, but when the car gets warm the level of oil shows between exact MIN and MAX level dots of dipstick

what sorcery is this?

sorry couldn't tell you the resolution. just wait for the experts. But please, dont pour in 20w50. its just too much thick. i am using 5w20 Zic A+ in my car from last 2 and half year and ALHAMDOLILLAH no problem.

Without wasting any more money just get ur pcv valve checked first and then make further assumptions and decisions.

Check PVC valve, and there is no problem pouring thick oil in old high mileage cars. I think you are the victim of the rough driven car. The problem can be valve seats or the oil rings, does your car gives smoke in the morning?

Check the PCV valve and other leaks. at 125K it should reduce oil at all. Mine is about 150k driven and i am still using 5W30 and the dipstick doesn't even loose 1/2 mm.

but when i start the car and leave it idle for few mins and then check the level its BETWEEN ''MIN & MAX'' level of dipstick ???

You always check oil at cold on a levelled surface. Once the engine starts the oil starts circulating and will be sitting in the sump so obviously the dipstick will not show correct levels.

There is nothing wrong with it. When engine is cold, all the oil is in the sump, hence giving the correct reading on dipstick. While the level will not be the same when engine is warm, as oil is at multiple places in engine and not just the sump. You should compare the levels while engine is cold and they should not differ. Check parking floor surface for any leaks.

what you r observing is completely normal. Oil quantity is checked after parking the car on a level surface for a good about 6 hours. When the engine runs, oil lubricates different engine parts n the dipstick reading can be anticipated to underread. Moreover, there is no PCV valve in our PkDM civic D16W9, as somebody pointed out wrongly!

after seeing millions of videos thought there is PCV valve good to know there isnt but why not????????????????????????????????????????????????

well its factory choice, cant really comment much about it. Usually every PkDM manufacturer is notorious in stripping down parts, if they feel the car be run without something, they happily strip it down

Ur car is perfectly normal u MUST always check oil level after parking car on leveled surface over night. If oil level is at max before startup ur car is fine..... Oil level cant be determined on running or warmed up engine on these cars.
