7th generation civic total revamp

aoa all...due to sky high new car prices i have been recently thinking of buying a 7th generation civic exi or vti prosmatec..2004 to 2006 model..spend some 2 or 3 lac on it..change its engine, brakes, shocks, tyres..body work n paint if needed..and then drive it for some 4 or 5 yrs.

is it practical or advisable? will u recommend it? and how to go about it? i m currently living in lahore.

You can also purchase a decent 7th Gen Civic having all of the above things in good shape by paying some extra amount

go for it, driving a 7th gen for almost 16 years, its a reliable and trouble free car...if maintained properly

Very good option.Go for it 🏻.go for vti because of abs and 1.6 litre powerful engine.

Being a 7th gen owner, all I'll say is that it's a treat to drive, returns a decent fuel economy, and feels more planted. I'd suggest getting a car with a clean body, 1-2panels being painted isn't an issue if you're planning to bring it up to your taste.
As for the engine, I'd suggest the D17A (the jdm engine), don't go for the D17A1 or anything, those are the Singaporean domestic market engines and dont pack the punch. Make sure you swap out the wiring, dashboard wiring, ecu, as well as the transmission for optimal running.
Or you could get a decent 7th gen, but with this course you won't have much left for it's maintenance, i.e flushing the gear oil, engine works (if required), and so on.

Indeed. For shockers I'd suggest KYB. Dont ever go for kabli shockers. You'll be saving around 10k for the front pair, but it's just not worth it at all, they fail, and they're already repaired most of the times. Whatever you end up putting in your car, make sure its a genuine replacement, or an aftermarket replacement which meets the quality and durability of the OEM part.
