80 series with a difference

hi pakwheels.
this is introduction of my 80 series lc.bought it around a year ago for off-roading and touring use.its 93 model originally 1hd but swapped to a 1fz.added a suspension lift front bullbar and few other add ons.went on a few off road events and it did good.

the performance was decent but the 1fz felt a bit slow.so searched about for swaps and found something different.so on with the phase 2.

so decided to swap in a cheverolet ls family engine in the cruiser.got a 5.3 vortec engine out of a silverado 1500.got my hands on a h151 trans and than ordered a marks adapters adapter plate for mating the engine with the transmission.sorted the wiring myself and heres how it stands now.needs some engine bay work still.

1hd doesnt even come close to what the ls engines are capable of.and i didnt want a diesel

@datpak Amazing that you have done this in Pakistan. I saw videos of FJ62 LC in America with a Chevy LS motor.
How much did the engine cost you?
Did you have to change the "hissa" due to all the extra power?

I have a FJ62 would love to put a V8 in it. How much does it cost to swap an engine? I was thinking of putting a 2UZ or 1UR.

Would love to have your input. Are you located in Rawalpindi area?

the 80 diffs take a lot of abuse.mines a factory locked version so stronger even than the unlocked versions.the cost was somewhere around 8+ including trans and adapter plate.mind u i did all the work myself so didnt have to pay labour which in ur case would be quite a handsome amount.
no idea about 1ur but a 2uz is a good swap for sure.even a "cheap" 1uz isnt a bad option at all.main thing is the mating of the trans and engine.thats the tricky part.if u choose a r series transmission than its easy.

the lift was bought used so didnt cost much.shocks are EFS.front springs are OME and rear dobinsons.if i keep it for some time i wanna do radflo or fox bypass.

@datpak Thanks for sharing. I amm learning lots. R series transmissions are manual or automatic? Wikipedia pages on Toyota R transmission is not clear.

How can I find out what manual transmission my 1989 FJ62 has? It is a 5 speed manual and has a diesel 2H enginee.

easiest way is to check what transmission code is on ur chassis plate.or go to www.toyodiy.com and search for ur vehicle there.

Ok so the swap needed to be tested out.went to kumrat than badgoi pass than kalam via utror stopover at miandam and back to peshawar.few pics for proof lol.
