I have both Corolla 82 and Civic 95 so I can compare both
I use to visit my mechanic so frequently on my Civic 95
Civic spare part is expensive difficult to find because it’s not a market car
Drive is comfortable but if you have good seats of corolla you will feel the same
Civic is too light weight
you always feel the car is out of your control.
Please always keep in your mind that majority road conditions we have except motorway
Civic more tax minimum engine size 1500CC
First of all it’s difficult to find good Civic if you will find one he will ask for 5 Lakh Plus
Every mechanic can very well understand Corolla
Drive comfort is not everything pocket comfort is important as well
And when you have to visit the mechanic you must have ample spare time to waste sitting with him
More CNG consumption
More Petrol consumption
Civic have a better road grip but only on good road
Civic is too low you will feel that u r sitting on the road
Corolla 88, 89,90,91,92 was one of the best shapes and if you can find one reconditioned its simply marvelous
Corolla is a Solid Car .......
@ Adee77: don't mind, i think you're biased towards corolla or either u r not running a good condition civic-95.
Regarding parts... just name any stock part of civic, every thing is available in market (japanese, malaysian, tiawani, chinese and kabli too)
U said dt, Civic always feel like car is out of control, and later u said Civic has a better road grip 
(bhai civic 5th & 6th gen is most famous for its road grip and weight to hp ratio... it has got 2 parallel grip in front suspension called double wishbone, whras 88 has single strut)
@ poster: both cars r best in their class... but i'll say go for a good 95, it will suit u 
95 is a car for youngsters.. its fun to drive it, 88 is a gd family car --- gd for uncles
