In my 2007 Reborn Prosmatec, catalytic converter is missing - can you please advise what is the purpose of it n from where i can find one in islamabad / rawalpindi n any tentative cost of it?

I dont think chain needs to be replaced or checked upon. It should last a life time. Since you have just gotten the car, do check the oil levels (gear oil, power steering oil and of course brakes). Also you can check if there is cabin filter (AC Filter installed), if yes then it might need replacement.

New will cost around 70 or 80K. Not sure from where to get in ISB / RWP, maybe some local pakwheelers can help. It controls the gas emissions from your car. From what I have heard, removing it should not cause any ride performance issues but not so sure.

thanks again dear. honda showroom asked me to change timing chain now as my car has completed 84k. They said it is due at 100k

Hain really, others please respond. 100K is too less for timing chain. I just Googled and people are discussing same for Honda Civic 8th that timing chain is maintenance free. Now I want to know too since mine has run 95K. I have to visit Honda this Saturday for oil change and will check from there too.

it doesnt have to be changed, unless they find a problem with it. Saying its a maintenance item without even inspecting it isnt right. They are (trying) to rip you off, they probably wont even change it and charge you. I wouldn't go back to that dealer.

Yeah i dun trust showroom guys blindly and this is the reason i am here to ask owners of civic.

I have one Liana as well and it also has a timing chain. Its manual advices to change it at 100k km done on meter.

Liana says change it and in civic there is no need to change it while both have chains. Strange?

First of all congrats for your purchase. Mind sharing the price over here or inbox me, plus timing chain usually lasts for lifetime. Just ignore them and do replace all fluids of your car for the car's smooth running in future

I remember from old days that timing belt used to be checked at around 70 or 80k. So 100k for chain does not seem right. Strange that baleno manual says to change at 100k.

How old is the battery ? Not normal at all.

Could it be battery issue only? It was perfect on Sunday. I drove it for about 30km that day and didn't face any issue. Sunday night i parked it at home and then on Thursday it happened.

Either battery is old or something from yr car is draining more current even when car is off. Or last could be that battery is not being charged meaning alternator is not charging the battery. Cant think of any other reason.

old battery could only be the reason i guess.
if battery is not being charged that this should have happened even before as i drove the car on saturday, sunday and the whole last week and all went ok. i drove, then i parked and then i started the car again the other day. it went ok.

now when i started it after the gap of three days, it happened. Today i will be changing the battery. currently it has AGS 80 amp. i mean 80 amp is more than enough and this is more than the required one for civic

Since you do not know how old is the battery therefore I would say that do get battery checked to make sure it needs replacement.
My friend had a gli and it developed a problem after 2 years that the tracking system started to drain the battery. There was some component in the system which used to drain the battery. Old battery does start to give out signs before it becomes totally dead.

I have AGS battery. Not sure about the amperes. I can check later.
