I have recently bought a Civic 8th generation ( 2008 Model) Oriel Prosmatec, and I have done 2,3 oil changes . But now another oil change is due and I have forgotten the exact name + rating of the genuine Honda oil... My bad, I also misplaced the previous empty containers.

Can any one please tell me the name of the oil and its rating etc, 5W30 or what is it? And my car is 80k driven so can I switch to fully synthetic engine oil?

10km/l is good.
Honda synthetic is 5w30. You can use it. No issues.

I have researched a bit about honda civics since I plan to buy this car later this year. You can get a well maintained 2010 Honda civic at that price. 2011 avg. cost is 13.5 lacs. But I have received advice from fellow pakwheelers that I should go for 2009 Civic if it's available and in good condition. There is no difference between 2009 and 2011 model. But the price of the older model is 1 lacs less on average. The main thing should be condition of the car.

aoa can u tell me the how much gear oil should i pour in manual my father 09 manual civic was ok in every aspect he got the gear oil changed by my mechanic hes a desi guy he poured zic i think dont know how many litres but after that the gear got a little hard and i am having shifting problems from 3rd to 2nd i got it checked again from him and he said clutch replace hoga but before that it was fine can u help

Bro get a honda maintained vehicle..make sure it's driven on coolant...and not meter reversed..2012...50k driven will be arnd 16.5 to 17

Get it changed from honda authorized dealear...Manual transmission) 1.4 L Fluid Change, 1.6 L at Overhaul @ 40,000kms.
Honda original MTF approx 1000Rs /liter

Get a honda maintained vehicle...other wise it's a mess..people has driven it without getting cat con cleaning...and proper mantaincene done...I would suggest hetGet a clean maintained car and drop which model it is....mine 07 is better than 2012...in any aspect

Is there any concrete way to check for meter reversal, like hooking up with some machine, etc, apart from interior inspection (i.e. steering wheel, brake pedals, gear, etc. wear and tear)? Perhaps Honda Service Center might have some way of checking it?

yes there's an OBD 2 Diagnostics which can detect meter reversal, as People reset the it through the CMOS settings, and there are ways to detect the condition if car has been less than 100k driven,check O2 sensor wire, it should be white, engine bolts has red paint left on them, chrome on engine has not turned brown....etc...but prefer getting a car which has maintenance history and log book maintained.
