Sun came out by then.
So decided to do some excursion.
Hmmm ..... What ca be done ???
Climbing ?.... Not possible.... Too much snow !:(
Trakking ?.... Not possible..... Too much snow ! :(
Dil Pishori ? .... Not possible.... Too much snow !:(

We were the only tourists around, otherwise everyone had left yesterday because of heavy snow fall and afraid of getting stuck because of closure of roads. So not much options available.

PAF Base and Skiing Resort, Kalabagh was not far from our Rest house. So an attempt could be made for Skiing there. But we were all civilians so started ringing every available contact in PAF. And left no stone unturned. We started walking towards Kalabagh from our Resthouse and continued calling every possible contact.Made dozens of calls during a 5-6 kms walk.
I called my MD who is quite an influential man and told him what we desired.
He replied ; " Base Commander of Faisal base and Noor Khan base, are my friends. I am calling them and you will get permission for skiing in few minutes. You will get a VIP protocol at the base , just wait for my call".
And he never called back and didn't pick my call either.:o
Now it was afternoon and we were waiting outside the Kalabagh base for the jackpot. Eventually Ustaadjee's efforts worked and permission was granted from higher ups. Finally we got in.

Wow !
Kalabagh base is a world in its own.
It seems like we were in Europe. Well designed and well kept. Beautiful place to stay.

We continued moving up, up and up to reach the top where Skiing slope is located. But it was one hell of a climb.

Do you remember the famous mystery of 'Alfred Hitchcock' ; "The thirty nine Steps".
But when we started climbing those steps we came to know that they were "390 steps".:o
