A chill trip

It was the old trio with a Twister trip this time.
Although it was a short trip but had the life time experience.
It sounds crazy to travel 3300. kms to enjoy three days only but that's what madness is all about.:o It was one Hell of an enjoyment in a Bone Chilling weather. Besides some trakking, getting stuck in a Snow storm, Skiing was an experience that will be remembered for long.

As you know that we have an old habit of getting sick before / after a public holiday . So, Kashmir day (5[SUP]th[/SUP] February) was approaching and it was Thursday so we were planning in advance to get sick on Friday, Saturday to avail four days excursion(H) No concrete plan as yet but it was decided that it’s a winter trip so we must find some snow.

Initial plan was to visit Ziarat and Quetta but had a dramatic change in plan and extended the trip to north. Time was short, therefore, it was not feasible to drive to Galliat or Swat and then drive back within four days. So decided to change the plan and to travel by air. To keep the trip within budget, decided to depart by train and return by air.
We were having a pre-trip meeting at Farhan’s place on weekend, considering all the’ ifs and buts’. (Ifs were presented by Farhan and Asim bhai and buts were thrown by me). When both felt my buts getting strong and ifs becoming weak, they played their trump card. We were sitting near the airport. At once they jumped in the car and suggested to go to airport and look at all the available options there. Cutting the story short, when we returned from airport in half an hour we had tickets in our pocket and a sinister smile on the both of their faces. :D

It was the team’s 1[SUP]st[/SUP] ever trip without own car. Caught Karachi express from Cantt station on Wednesday 4[SUP]th[/SUP] Feb, evening and the story begun ;

Yup it was a relaxing trip full of enjoyment and chilling in the chilling weather

Anyhow... the story moves on..........

To start with the train was on time...... it left the Karachi Cantt station at 5 pm..... it was scheduled to reach Lahore at 12 pm, however what happened then on is another story which will be revealed latter on.....

The train kept on moving and we kept on doing nothing......it was boring to say the least.....I mean on the road you have so much to do....let alone driving....here you could'nt do anything....the best thing was to go to sleep but none of us was tired enough....HYD came and went and light changed to complete darkness.... after Nawabshah we started on politics and the pointless discussion made it easier to pass the time......

travelling next to us was a guy who was totally fed up and he had the nack of saying no to everything and anything.....now whenever he made a comment about anything we had to convince him otherwise....it was fun and we enjoyed it a lot......

by the way it was our first experience of eating in the dinning car that night :)....pics will follow....

The train was on time and we reached Rohri well before mid night

40 mins past Rohri at about 1240 hrs we stopped at a platform less station of Sangi....we were in our berths and pretended like we were asleep :),,,,,but at about 0115 hrs I had enough of pretending tied my shoes and got out of the stopped train....the trio followed with complete enthusiasm.....people outside were saying that a Sugarcane trolley has fell down on the railway crossing ahead and their is no way that the trains could cross

we went to the front of the train while walking we could see the N5 at a touching distance and everyone of us was quietly thinking about being in our car right now.....

anyhow to pass time we had some thrilling pointless discussion with the driver, which started with the gaps in the train tracks and ended with Nawaz Sharif.....at about 0230 hrs the signals turned green and we went back to our compartments and the train moved on......

PS: travelling in train meant that we could sleep our first night out of the city which is almost impossible while driving so I slept and slept good
