I spotted this trashed hilux on chakri interchange, a trucker was taking it to Islamabad. It crashed near balkassar interchange, according to a dude who was with the trucker, the driver was at around 150kph in the fast lane when a slow car pulled in front of him. He slammed the brakes, but lost control over the vehicle and it hit the divder wall. It rolled over 4 or 5 times after which it ended up hitting one of the concrete poles used to fix fence on the side of the road.
The guy said there were two passengers, both of them severely injured, one of them was thrown out of the windshield.
x
very unfortunate indeed
Oh bad...

1) The truck is designed to run in harsh terrain, to haul some cargo and you can also tow a light trailer, but it is not made for cruising at very high speed. . .
2) We think seat belts are useless

damn...
bad crash...hope survivors recover soon
A friend's father passed away in a similar accident near chakri a few days back. He was the DG Benazir Income Support Program. He was also in a Hilux, maybe it's the same one. Though I am not sure.
Are u sure this hilux is without ABS? this is a double cabin, its gotta have abs.
@devil, very sad to hear it, this one was isb registered bro, don't know about any deaths but the guy whom I talked to said that injuries were severe, esp the person who was thrown out of the windshield... Allah maghfirat kre.
I was wondering why didn't the battery catch fire? its clearly touching the hood, probably it was crushed even before the poles could touch the metal...
with abs it might have survived. these trucks overturn after their wheels get locked in event of hard braking and driver tries to steer. We got an SSR X in past and these rides are very very dangerous at high speeds.
anyone surviving this one would be luckyreally bad crash indeed
That's high speed impact roll ..the cabin looks pretty much ok ..I hope know one died..it would all the difference with a roll cage..:S
Bad crash
A lesson for all of us
Damn Man !!! This is indeed a bad crash... I wonder why the hell they were not wearing seat belts ??? It is an irony that we think nothing will happen if we do not wear seat belts !!! I am sure if The person who got thrown out of the windscreen had been wearing a seat belt things wouldve been different today !!!
Damn, that's a bad bad hit.
true! what people, esp drivers who are uneducated do that instead of wearing complete belts, they buckle the belt without themselves on the seat and then sit over it. whenever a police chowki comes up, they pull the cross section over them so as it looks like they're wearing the belt... lolz! ye to halaat hain hamari awaam kay...
kisi air bags waali car me ye kam kro and impact pr seedhi neck tootay gi, nothing less than that!
no bro, i inspected the cabin, it was crushed from the top as u may get the idea from the pics. The roof was crushing the seats after breaking the head rests. Plus, that would matter in case of one person only as the other one hit the road hard after being thrown out and I think he died!
indeed. but hitting the wall at that speed even with an abs equipped vehicle would've made no difference as such. Because this one rides high and due to very low stability, being thrown in the air is pretty much likely.
so far, the most stable and the best car locally produced with a diesel motor is the corolla 2.OD. Sticks hard to the road even at 160+kph, excellent braking response even in the non abs variant, unlike the gasoline variants which make u feel the speeds.
No Air Bags in car worth more than 2 million :mad::mad::mad:
