Snow is loaded from these near by glaciers and taken to lower warm towns and used as we use ICE. (baraf)

Honey bees.
I found such boxes all along the route, once I crossed Babusar Top. Some people were selling honey too. When I asked one of the vendors about the honey, he said, "rozay mein jhot nahi bolta, cheeni (sugar) k sheere ka he."

Yes you can make it, but risk is always there. Two of the many water streams could be risky for low ground clearnce vehicles. Also the road after Lulusar Lake could be troublesome, if it rains. Anyway I saw a lot of corollas there, but only one Honda City.

Bro how was crossing of the water. specially the Batakundi ? easily done ?

and why were the children in truck (for crossing) but that means you had trouble with car crossing the water. Can you please write a detailed post which issues you faced as i wanted to go to skardu and my ride is cultus. Please share detailed problems faced by you.

At first sight, Batakundi water stream looked scary. However, I got off my car and took a close look and Thanks to Allah, I crossed it without any problem.
All the passengers of the car got off and boarded the truck because the water was bringing stones with it. I just didn't want my car to hit some of the stones that were a little bigger.
Water streams were a problem only in July. I traveled from Lahore to Gilgit in mid August, 2015 (almost one month later) and did not find most of the water streams. In mid August, it was really a smooth journey.

This thread reminds me of my Journey from Karachi to Khunjrab probably 15 years back. I was with my 3 kids and wife in Mitsubishi lancer 1988 model. At that time doing such an attempt was a nightmare as there were few portions of paved roads in Kaghan and old Karakaram highway. I did such attempts several times from Karachi. I use to leave Karachi at 4 AM with my family and straight went to Murree non-stop(stoppages only for fuel and food). AU KHAN seems like my type of person. I also posted pics back then on Pakwheels.
