The journey started back in March with the booking of the car.

There was much confusion about Altis 1.6 vs Grande FL 1.8, with a lot of help from these forums, I finally decided to go with Grande for it's Geeky Tech Features. Also, since I knew that I'll keep upgrading stuff over the years which won't increase resale so I opted for the top of the line version after a lot of comparisons in an Excel Sheet

Fast forward to few days back when I received the car, the initial impression was super awesome! The car felt even more luxury in person maybe due to the fact that it was my first ever new car

To get the car in it's best shape, I took it straight from the showroom to Ahmad Yar for detailing and bringing out the best shine. The fun part starts here

We discussed what we should do in the initial detailing session so we decided to go with the following process:

• Wash the car
• Clay the paint to prep it for sealant
• Very light compound and polishing to fix some faded patched of paint to bring out the best shine
• Applied 2 layers of CG Jet Seal
• On the interior leather Collinite Leather Wax was used
• CG VRP was used on the wheels and exterior plastic
• Interior was protected with CG Silk Shine

Then I drove the car back home to Faisalabad from Lahore. So naturally a lot of bugs on the windshield and front of car. The next step/experiment is going to be testing out the CarPro ECH20 for waterless wash.

How much time is required for this session and what is the followup maintainence after all this . I mean , whts the life for this sealant after how much time u need to get it freshed

Congrats, 1.6 vs grande is no comparison its good u went for grande. 1.6 is still stuck with ect shitty transmission.

Ahmed yad guided u well for products, i also have similar stuff but i prefer meguiars leather bam for my interior leather trims

Washed car at home for the first time with the tools in the 2nd comment. The above photo shows the water beading of Jet Seal.

Water Magnet for windows and glass. Wolly Mammoth for body. Chubby Supra for CG Insta Wax+

There was a lot of dirt and bugs because of motorway drive but most of it went away with just water wash. No shampoo used this time. The results weren't 100% but water only with Karcher K3 got me to 90% which is good enough.

Will inspect the car in the morning in detail.

Applied the insta wax only to the driver door for now to see a different in jet seal only door vs jet + insta side of the car.

They took a day to do all the above stuff.

The follow up is all the products I mentioned to maintain it on your own. That includes washing it at home with a pressure washer and car shampoo and topping it up with a good wax/sealant.

And to take safety measures like never do dry dusting on the car. Use waterless wash method for that. When the car is really dirty, use the 2-bucket method.

Yes really enjoying the drive of Grande. After completion of 300km on Odo, I've started giving it a bit of a boost now. Not too much just some 1-2 second acceleration that peaks usually at 4000rpm. Which still isn't flooring but I really enjoy the response.

I've been looking for the best way to break in your new car engine to complete it's running. Thought I'd mention my strategy here.

I brought the car from Lahore to Faisalabad and I was guided by the service incharge at Toyota Walton k RPM 2500-3500 k darmyan rakhna is the best way to go and to change the speed a little bit after every 20kms or so.

And I didn't use Cruise so that there would be that tiny natural variation of speed when the throttle is manual.

I got my Grande in june and it's 1500 km on odo. Had complete wash with Toyota service center. They used turtle ice wash and wax. And charged Rs 300 extra.
Kindly mention which is the best wash and wax shampoo for Grande and which dedicates wax should I keep at home for DIY washing at home.
