A little bit of white smoke coming from the exhaust!

well the problem im here to discuss is that my santro 2002 when i start it , when its warming up some white smoke comes out from the exhaust and a weird smell, it doesnt come out continuosly, and its not that much. it also comes out when i press i throttle full but at that time also its not that much. but still i want to ask is it a problem?

yes it is a problem, i resolved it today. I had to repair engine. You should took your car nearby mechanic shop. PS I am using cultus 2008 model

is your coolant reducing or any heat up problems?, is the oil colour milky or any milky residue on oil cap? seems like a bad head gasket causing coolant to leak in the combustion chamber causing white smoke and sweet burnt smell from exhaust, , it could just be water vapour but it should only come for a little while in cold air,

There is no heatup problem while driving in the city, I've never taken it on the highway, plus i don't usually take it out, just start it up so that the battery doesn't go bad.
But the thing is if it was a bad gasket than why the amount of white smoke is so less?

could be sign of a near failing head gasket, for now drive it like it is and observe coolant level and whether oil in reservoir bottle, and also observe engine oil level and whether if it turns milky, if either of these is present then its head gasket, if coolant is not reducing then a system pressure check is better to see where if any leaks are located. there is no other cause of white smoke apart from steam condensation on cold start, do you have thermostat installed? fan is direct or automatic?

Could be bad valve seals and guides or failing head gasket. Observe Oil and Coolant level for 2-3 days, check oil filler cap if it has any white residue or your radiator had oil contamination.

its either the head gasket or the valve seals are in the process of going to be out of order! watch if the car is reducing coolant, and one more thing check if the exhaust of the car has oil in it!

It doesnt have oil! It has water and carbon

White smoke usually indicates steam in the exhaust. Steam is a normal by-product of the combustion process, but unless it is below +30 degrees, the steam should become invisible shortly after startup. If it continues, there may be water entering the combustion chambers. There should be sign of rust on the plugs in case entrance of water in combustion chamber.
