sir, I am not certain that you can travel on those roads these days with GLi specially after the flood. But let me share you what I witnessed when I was there and it was one week before the flood.

We met a guy who was with his family and was travelling on honda civic and toyota platz, we first we saw him in sharda and then we also met him and had chit chat with him in Kel as well, and he was like cursing the roads Then again we saw him traveling with his family in hired jeep in the way to Taobut from Kel.

So if flood has not effected the roads that much, then you can travel on GLi with family as he did.

I was able to capture his cars in sharda when I was having breakfast

Fahim bhai I am also in contact with local person in Kel, he said that I can reach there in my car easily now a days. Just finalizing things of my expected visit to Taobut.

Hi. I too visited in May 2011 and these pictures remind me of what I saw. We stayed at Kundul Shahi at Neelum Hotel. 1 room, 4 beds, 400 per night, very economical. Bath, cable tv, razais, matress. Food was great too.
Night at Muzaffarabad was expensive in a hotel.
Nissan bus is called "Nissan Powdery" by locals as it travels like someone has taken heroine is not feeling any pain. The name is in respect to the Nissan power.
We travelled by a coaster and no problem till Shardah. We returned from there. ALthough at two points coaster had to travel through stream. Lots of check posts and questions by army and police but we made it fine.

Day 02

We stayed as guest in sharda and our host was relative of a guy i know here in Lahore. He gave us a very warn and generous reception and unforgettable hospitality. Thanks to him. He is the owner of Khwaja medical store next to govt. boys high school. I remember that my ankle was swelling and I was having pain (it was the result of football that I played in Lahore 2 days before leaving :), so don't play football before leaving :P)... and he dressed it twice without any charges

If anyone go there and meet him, say my salam to him

After waking up in the morning on second day we had breakfast and our plan was to visit Sharda fort. It is a few minutes gentle walk from there.

cost depends upon how you travel and stay... overall neelum valley is very cheap as compared to naran/kaghan and northern areas in terms of accommodation and traveling...

weather will be nice & cool in june.... sweaters are not required if sun is high up in the sky with no clouds covering it... but if weather is kind of cloudy and rainy then you would need them...Taobut was really cool though at night :).. so its better to keep a sweater or a jacket...we did the same and I actually used my jacket in Kel when it was raining...
