A new car or Used one?

I want to buy a car for my family. I will be driving for the
first time. need your expert advice regarding this matter. I'm very much
confused. A friend of mine advised me to lease a new car as it will not
cost me much on maintenance as second hand one. another friend advised
to buy used car as i will be learning driving and when i have enough experience i can buy new car then.
So what do you suggest which way should I go?
I'm considering Hyundai Santro Exec for second hand car because sunel bhai preferred it in his budget series review.
For New car I'm confused between United Bravo and Suzuki Wagon R.

Well it depends on your budget and requirements that which car you should choose and whether to go for used or new one. As you mentioned that it would be your first car then i would suggest you to go for new car as it will be trouble free for next 3 to 5 years atleast. Santro is no doubt a good car but finding a clean and trouble free car is another challenge and I won't recommend that. My personal opinion is to go for brand new either Mehran, Wagon R, Bravo or V2 if you need peace of mind.
Rest there are many experts here who may guide you even better.

Go for new one as you are beginner in this scenario and a tension free car will be beneficial for u.
Go for cultus vxr if u can stretch out your budget otherwise wagonR OR wait couple of months for new suzuki alto if u can bear its exterior

learn to drive. park. reverse.
when you are all set, buy anything of your choice

If you want to learn a thing or two than buy a use car. Not all used cars are abused however finding a right one is always a challenge. As for new well in Pakistan new cars are new just by their tag and do come with problems and their own set of challenges. Even corollas and civics are coming with company faults, forget Napaksuzuki.

sir, if you can afford, new is new... if you are going to keep it for loooonger period of time, go for new one... peace of mind and car will be driven in your hands since day 1.

I was in same situation like you many years ago (2007) and then i Bought new Cuore and it proved a best decision. my vote goes for New if you have already done driving school training or some friend helped you in learning driving on his car. But if have limited budget, then do not go for Bank finance but buy used Mehran EFI (Least maintenance cost) because santro will cause you higher maintenance cost

Actually Me and my family hate mehran. We hate mehran so much that i would rather dismiss the idea of buying a car than buying mehran.

Always get a new car, go for the WagonR. Before purchasing it practice on one of your friends car or go to a motor training school. You will learn to drive a car in 2 weeks and by that time you can't hurt the car much.

Max 5 lac.

you can get a mint condition khyber in this amount, parts are available in abundance, its a nice, cheap and comfortable car.
Your best option would be a secondhand mehran, as it would be efi and newer, but if you don't want a mehran, get a khyber
