A project which needs initiation..suggestions please!

Hey PWheelers,

I have a project in mind but before i start off i always consider critics, advice and suggestions...

Sooo....Here is the deal..

1. I am thinking about buying a FX or charade,Subaru,old 660cc Alto....with damaged or dead engine...
2. Going to swap the engine with 660cc japanese AT
3. Mod the body to look better..like lowering the car..extending bumpers and in FX,Alto case change the entire bumper..

I need your valuable inputs in selecting the right car first...and what are the chances with 660cc AT engine..(the point is making the car comfy..no clutching and shifting)
P.S : 660cc is more affordable
And i also need suggestions on body work...(have to make it look great to be proud of it not ashamed :P)

Fx is best option. But i dont know the weight hope its not too heavy for 660. If u can find mehran for this u will get a very good outcome

How about an electric car conversion?

for easy 660 conversion, the old taxi is ideal - but they are dead now as they have been under hammer and oxy acetylene torch a lot. If you are on a tight budget and want a headache free car do not opt for the suzuki FX or mehran as they are rolling heaps of scrap metal.

You can look around and find an old khyber in good shape and install a cultus engine + autobox in it very easy and its very simple to service and repair also (except the autobox) - best if you get an old cultus for this job.

Do not assume the 660 cc are very economical, they guzzle fuel if you try to run them fast.

Honestly mate..i hate mehran..been seeing it since i was a child and they still are in production !! too many on the road....i want a cheap ride with better looks..of course major body work will be done but i dont think i will settle on mehran..

Mate the budget is of course tight...u never get enough spare money for a risky project...im not assuming that 660 AT will be perfect for sporting because i always drive slow B) * like a boss ...50-60km/h is my top speed
i think i will be able to find old alto taxi in dead condition * have some connections in a bank's scrap yard
do you think it will be ideal for 660 AT...i am not sure about the mounts and space required for AT...

And one more thing..the reason im going for 660cc AT is that its cheap..ultra cheap..i can get my hands on complete set including wiring and ecu e.t.c for 20-25k...
Swap might be easier also...*Im doing all the labour by my self now. Bought a lot of tools lately..keeping an old Honda Accord running is not a childsplay !!

yar theres just too much hassle in making it work..i have given it a thought and the odds are not good...beside i dont wanna get under my car or tilting it half when chain is going to slip

secondly if you were living in the same dimension as i, u would have bought the engine..twice..in the price you mentioned !
and seriously ?? u think u can compensate..me ???

as far as the rickshaw is concerned...if u need a job or something i can honestly help...send me your updated C.V with a photograph and i'll try to hook you up somewhere ...coz i would feel ashamed if my fellow PWheeler would drive a rickshaw even if its differential wala watercooled C.N.G rickshaw !

Yar i honestly know just this guy here in karachi...he is kinda supervisor or something in the scrap yard...i have bought parts for a friends Daewoo Racer project from there a month ago and he (My friend) bought that racer earlier..
dont know any thing about similar ISB/RWP yards..
