Dear Pakwheelers,
I have had my fair share of travelling across Pakistan in last 20 or so years. I have been lucky enough to be in some mesmerizing places at the right time ..... but I have also seen some destruction. I have seen forest disappearing, experiences heaps of garbage and litter of non-bio degradable material on treks, meadows, deserts and streams. I have seen game birds, animals, butterflies and fish disappearing from places where they were in abundance. I have seen people taking souvenirs from historical places and writing on such monuments.
I and a lot of my fellow travelers are responsible for this carnage. When we travel in our vehicles cars or 4x4s we just don?t mind what impact we leave on environment. Our budget takes a priority over what we leave behind in terms of junk in those areas. We complain about the high prices and exploitation in these areas but never contribute in terms of planning the trees, preserving the resources or at least not destroying what is left. We may enjoy a great BBQ in Kelash, Deosai or Cholistan but have we ever cared that what we leave behind. A bon fire deosai feels great a dream, but do we make any effort in replenishing the trees that we consume.
I foresee a thread in 2025 which says " I went to deosai and a place called sheosar lake really sucked as it was stinking with garbage".
I really feel guilty and responsible that in next few decades we will rob our next generation of all these beautiful places.
Pakwheels is a big community and if Govt or NGO don?t care the fellow pakwheelers action will make a difference .... we can at least try. Let's </SPAN>
- Plant some trees on each of our visit, </SPAN>
- Make a vow not to throw litter specially non-bio degradable material (plastic bags, wrappers n bottles + ropes + cig buds + cans etc). bring them back or dispose them properly,</SPAN>
- Hunt with responsibility, avoid or boycott habitual over killers, </SPAN>
- don?t pollute main water ways by proving that your 4x4 is in top shape, </SPAN>
- help those who are already doing a job, </SPAN>
- And many more.</SPAN>
i know some of my friends here will not agree with me but those who do let?s start now practically now and give a better Pakistan to our next generation. I hope that my children and their children would be able to enjoy what I could.
@admin if possible can you make this thread sticky, will really appreciate.
Others if you see a blatant abuse of nature please post pics, if you do something good please post pics. Lets join our hands together for Pakistan .... a more beautiful Pakistan.</SPAN>
