I am planning a 7-8 day road trip (my first one) to Azad Kashmir this summer (june / july) from Islamabad and am seeking guidance regarding the following:
- I have a new Honda City (Manual). Please guide me upto which point can i comfortably take my car, based on current road conditions.
- What should be the stopover towns with some place to stay / eat overnight.
- I know i'll have to hire a jeep (with driver) at some point at or after Muzaffarabad. Please guide me where to get hold of a good jeep and an expert driver (who would be my guide as well) on the way. Please be kind enough to share the estimated costs for this, if possible.
- I intend to visit the following places:
Neelam Valley: Authmuqaam, Kutten, Sharda, Kel, Halmat, Tao Butt, Jamwari & Sardari
(plz help me put these in the correct sequence regarding location / distance from Muzaffarabad)
Muzaffarabad: Pir Chinasi
The names have been gathered from internet surfing and i seek help if i missed any other place worth visiting in the area.
5. Any idea about electricity at these places. I shall be carrying a few gadgets needing recharging and want to estimate how many extra batteries should i be carrying.
6. Lastly, some guidance regarding food availability and arrangements on the way.
7. Any other place, food item, stopover or activity you want me to explore.
The help shall be much appreciated. I shall return the favor by sharing a lot of pics and a comprehensive tour report.
