A Trip to Bhiria (District Nowshero Feroz, Sindh)

In October 2011, I went to a village near Bhiria Road named "Bhangu Behan". It is situated on the border of Nowshero Feroz & Khairpur District, Sindh. The purpose was to buy goats for upcoming qurbani and to also have some fun the in adjoining desert areas near the village. I was with a friend who hails from this village & works in Karachi.

It was a 2.5 day trip. We went there by train (Sukkur Express), reached early morning at Bhiria and then went to Bhangu Behan on a motorcycle taxi

Next day went on a motorcycle trip to nearby desert area known as Bhit.

Greetings from across the border. I was able to locate this on google maps (Khairpur, Sindh) and noticed that the area is across the border from Thar desert, Rajasthan.

Just wanted to congratulate you on a very fine report. Also, the fruit is not poisonous but unless fully ripe, is inedible by humans. Migratory birds such as demoiselle cranes eat it with relish though. We had seen both (ripe and raw) versions during a trip to Jaisalmer couple years ago so couldnt help but post this note. Just wanted to congratulate you on a very fine report. Also, the fruit is not poisonous but unless fully ripe, is inedible by humans. Thanks for clarifying about that desert fruit. Seems like I missed an opportunity to try it out because of poison fear

This area borders with Thar Desert and it was so vast, I wonder how actual Thar would be like. Would love to visit it someday.

P.s. I have great desire to visit Jaisalmer someday, but God knows if it will be fulfilled or not in my lifetime.

This fruit is called Tumba and its of bitter taste. It is used in medicines by Hakeem log for power. Camels also eat it that's why camel milk is very healthy to drink.
