Hope every body is fine and planning their next trip in this summer season.
Travelling on bike in Northern Areas was a dream which came true Alhamadulliah. Areas visited include Dir, Lawari Tunnel, Bamboret (Kalash Valley), Chitral, Booni Valley, Mastuj, Shandur Top, Phandar Valley, Gilgit, Rakaposhi View Point and Back to Gilgit, Nanga Parbat view point, Chillas, Dassu, Besham, Khanpur to Lahore
Itinerary was as follows
14th of April to 22nd of April 2018
14 April Left Lahore at 0700 Hrs Reached Islamabad about 1300 Hrs
Reached Butkhela about 2000 Hrs and night stay at Hotel
15 April Left for Kalash about 0900 Hrs Reached 2100 Hrs at Chitral (Stopped at Lwari Tunnel because Bikes are not allowed to pass the tunnel so we loaded our bikes in Truck and passed the tunnel. When we reached Darosh the rain started and we altered our plan and reached Chitral instead of Kalash)
16 April Visit the Chitral during rain. Left Chitral for Kailash about 1500 Hrs
Reached Bamborate about 1800 Hrs (The way from Ayun to Bamborate was very bad condition due to rain) Night Stay at Mabmorate (Kalash Valley)
17 April Visit the Kalash valley and met some locals there, visit Kalash Museum. Left for Booni Valley about 1200 Hrs Reached Chitral about 1500 Hrs, Reached Booni Valley about 1800 Hrs
Night Stay in PTDC Booni
18 April Left for cross the Shandur Pass 0700 Hrs
Reached Mastuj about 1000 Hrs
Reached Laspar Valley about 1230 Hrs
Reached Shandur Top aboout 1430 Hrs (heavy snow fall started near Shandur Top, continued our travel during snow falling) Crossed the Shandur and reach Barsat at 1630 Hrs(almost 25 KM before Phandar) Night stay at Barsat.
19 April Left for Gilgit about 0900 Hrs Reached Gilgit City about 1900 Hrs
(Stopovers on the way, Phandar Lake, Yasin Valley, Gupis)
Reached Rakaposhi View Point about 2100 Hrs Night Stay in Rakaposhi View Point Hotel.
20 April Today our Plan was to go Hunza Valley and its surrounding areas. But heavy rain has altered our plan. We cancel our travel further till Khunjrab and put reverse gear to our bikes.
Left Rakaposhi View Point at about 1200 Hrs (after stop the rain) reached Jaglot about 1600 Hrs (little rain was all the way) reached Nanga Parbat View Point about 1700 Hrs and could not go further due to heavy rain and fear of landsliding. Night stay at there in Guest House.
(That night was very horrible, heavy rain with thunderstorm)
21 April Started our back journey at 0800 Hrs after travelling almost 8-9 KM the road was blocked due to heavy landsliding. Stuck there and waited for clear the road. At about 1800 Hrs road was cleared by FWO and we Left for Besham via Chillas Dassu.
Reached Chillas about 20 Hrs have dinner and started travel further till wherever we could reached. Another road Blocked near Dassu due to CPEC work and Dassu Dam. We reached Dassu at about 0200 Hrs (Mid-night) and stay in hotel. (All night travel)
22 April Left Dassu at about 0700 Hrs reached Besham 1200 Hrs
Reached Khanpur Dam about 1800 Hrs (via Mansehra, Abbotabad, Haripur) have a dinner at Khanpur and started travelling toward Islamabad via Texla. Reached Rawalpindi at 2200 Hrs. Reached Lahore (Home) at 0500 Hrs (Al-HamduLillah)
Last two days was very tiring and almost night travel.
