My 1996 mehran petrol only gives 18kmpl in city driving. Which model do u have???

If you haven't already, install a working genuine thermostat, and get the fan on auto.

Inspect the ignition system, and make sure it is working perfectly and within specs.

Get the carburettor checked; make sure that the manual choke is connected with the knob on the dashboard. It should idle smoothly at 850-950 RPM, with the mixture properly adjusted and the timing should be 7 deg BTDC.

Make sure that the valve lash is properly adjusted.

My mehran is entirely petrol driven and is 20 year old. Still it has an auto working fan. I intend to get the air conditioning system installed following the extreme temperatures in karachi, But i am fearing that my car might enter into heating problems since the fan is on auto

get it on direct. otherwise ur ac will not work. For an ac in mehran u must shift ur cars radiator fan to direct

No wrong! When the Ac system will be installed it will automatically switch on the radiator fan for heat dissipation.. When you will switch of the AC button the automatic fan will start to work again ..

Go for it bro.. I have installed ac in my car in 2012 it was 2011 mehran ..i installed from the company and I was quoted around 35k .. I drove that car for 2 years and regularly on Ac and never faced any heating issues in it and the cooling was very nice ..keep in mind that you won't get the output of bigger cars ac but it will be wonderful for the front passengers and in hot afternoon it will be good but not in short intervals it works very nice on long drives ..on speed 1 the ac tends to trip off when the temperature inside the cabin is good but in KHI it wont except in night so always switch off the compressor on regular intervals ..shades do wonder in summers they work pretty awesome..now i have sold the car to my friend and he is satisfied ..its been over 4 years now. 3s gave one year compressor warranty .. If U can spend then buy everything new from compressorEvaporator.The radiator counts alot as its 20 years old car ..have you been using coolant? If not then make sure to clean up the radiator thoroughly and fill in good coolant like ZIC A coolant ,Caltex or toyota collant .. I installed Sanden Ac daba pack!

and on trip off, the radiator fan also switches off????

Nope Only the compressor shuts off for max 30 to 40 seconds.It produces the sound when trips
