Absurd Quotation by Toyota Central Motors

A few days back, some young men broke into my Corolla Cross(locally assembled) HEV X. They stole the multimedia screen, speedometer, the window buttons of 3 doors, AC grills, push start button(possibly the assembly too). So they almost took out everything from the front dashboard, couldn't touch the gear panel because people were alerted before they could do more damage. Will attach picture of the dashboard area. Anyhow, Toyota Central Motors Karachi, is now asking 30 lakh rupay for the stuff. 30 lakh just for a dashboard of a 90 lakh rupee car seems absurd. I’m attaching a screenshot of the quotation too. 10 lakh rupay for, apparently a side cushion of a door. Any idea how I can get this into the Suneel bhai’s or someone higher up’s notice? The car hasnt even done its first 1000km yet.

They basically gave you “take this stripped doll out and leave” quotation.
If this incident happened in Karachi, check Plaza you might find those very same parts.

Buying from Plaza is just reinforcing their work. Telling them “beta aur chori karo, hum aap se apna hi saman khareedenge ”. Anyhow, im required to pay 150K as my insurance only covers 95%. Will getting Plaza parts affect the resale?

As long as genuine parts are properly installed from wherever you get from, it won't affect resale at all.

If you are paying 150K, then get it done from the dealership. Do get quotes from other dealers as well.

Take rates from plaza aswell. Where grey imports are available at cheaper rates. Taking help from sheirshah isnt a bad idea too.

A friends civic got submerged in a basement for 2 days underwater. HONDA gave them a 2.3 million quotation too. Insurance wanted to salvage the car but they managed to approve a 7 lack budget and got it fixed in around +/- similar budget.

In their case the car was purchased for 2.3 million and Insurance would pay out similar amount only but Civics price had gone upto 5.5 million + at that time.

The poor insurance has to pay the absurd amount. I am trying to resolve this matter without paying the bonkers amount.Will update once it is settled

Update: I was able to get the quotation down by 10 lakh rupay just by giving them Indus ka danda. And sadly, the dashboard still is quite expensive, 20 lakh rupay —confirmed by Indus. Khair, it showcases these dealerships and their malpractices.
