Ac Performance:Reversing heater pipes prob

Dear All.
i have reversed the pipes of heater for getting better performance of Ac in my margalla , the mechanic just changed the direction of 2 pipes. and now the heater is no longer in use, but i feel that my car is getting heat up a little more after this act. I need ur openions that is it true that reversing the pipes affect the cooling mechanism of the car , could make it more hot or its just my bad observations, might be wrong observation and this act have no connection with the car cooling mechanism ........

Usually they do not reverse the pipes. What they do is that the hot water connection going to wards the cabin heating side is by passed. And I think it should not effect the car engine cooling system.
Please check any blockage or some wrong connection.

ppl say ac becomes better but never felt though ..because we dont use heater in summer, its grill should work like a mini radiator..

i also wanna ask that if i disconnect my heater pipe from engine and directly connect the a/c pipe from the engine..will there be more better performance of a/c and more cooling??ive heard so that the performance will be better well?

slightly improves cooling in old cars.
No, has nothing to do with ur car temp getting up.
AC has alot of load on the engine.Maybe the car is getting warm due to the fact u r using AC

Yeah it would work in ur margalla..

has got nothing to do with the coolong system, however there might be a 5-7% reduction in the performance of the cooling system due to slight reduction in the quantity of water under circulation in the circuit.

this discussion is interesting .. What i understand is U can actually improve ur ac's performance by reversing the pipes? Please tell me what does reversing the pipes mean? i see two pipes connected to the 1main pipe(which is coming from the radiator), and 1 of those two pipes takes water in to heat the car inside, what is the other one for ? and how cud u reverse it?

bro i have observed the heat indicator without Ac, usually my way back to home from office , i noticed it easily becoz its my habbit to watch speedo meter, fuel and heat indicator after few seconds, thats wat i feel.

yes this trick helps to improve the Ac performance, but in old cars , in new cars there is no need of it, i have margalla of late 94 model, so i need tricks to get some output........ hahhahahahha

but my point was that, its better to get a lil more cooling in Ac or to make ur engine cooling mechanism disturbed also keeping in mind that the car is old like 94 model. but engine is in gud shape , but offcoruse not that much gud like new or 4-5 years old car .......

i wana discuss some serious concern regarding bypassing heater or some thing like that.

Leakage in water flow valve (heater On/Off switch) of any car's heater could cause thermal leakage through air duct into cabin. which means some hot air constantly comming from air ducts/louvers.
This type of air flow is neligible in winters but prominant in summers specilay when AC is switched On & cabin is sealed to get better cooling. This problem doesnt relate directly to car's engine conditon but to condition of HVAC control.

The quick remedy to this problem is disconnecting heater pipes so the hot water coming from engine couldnt radiate heat into the cabin.
Now the disconnection of heater is be done in two ways by mechanics,

Method 1) Some mechanics disconnect heater pipes from engine block & put two ruuber caps (stopper) on outlet & inlet points of hot water on the engine block to stop the water flow from that path.

Method 2) some mechanics took a piece of hose pipe & put that as a loop on both inlet & out let point of hot water coming from engine block for heater.

In both cases the heater is disconnected but the proper way is the method 1 beacuse it stops the flow of hot water as in case of heater is in Off position. In method two the bypass loop causes constant back flow of hot water into the engine's block water jacket without radiating heat & this unnecessory back flow of hot water reduced the flow of water through radiator as water in both paths (heater & radiator) is pumped by the same water pump.

first pls understand what is purpose of the excercise u have done.
there is a black water pipe going from the engine to the heater located inside ur dash board and another pipe coming out to terminate into the engine again.the heater itself is a small radiator.hot water from engine is always circulating through this heater.when u move ur cooling switch from blue 2 red, it simply opens the inlet of a plastic box(inwhich heater is located).thus air flows through this heater and u get warm air.when switch is on fuul blue,all air should bypass this plastic compartment.
what the mechanic does is not reverse the pipes but he connects the hot water outlet(coming out of engine) to the inlet of the engine(through which heater circulated water goes back into engine), thus bypassing heater.so this shall in no way affect ur cars temperature. and if the inlet of the heater plastic box isproperly closed by red blue switch, when it is at blue, ur ac shall work fine.

Hot water is not circulating all the time through heater there is a valve switch which directly control the amount of water flow through the haeter. & the duct system u r refering is only the case with fresh air ducts.

sir i am thinking to put stopers at the pipes end, rather then this methood 2 that u mentioned above (inlet pipe to outlet pipe) . but now i am confused with @Alto bro's statement that there is no effect of this act on the engine cooling mechanism ...... plz clear it up ....

As far as my understanding is concern I m sure about it as i had observe this thing in my Car & corected it my self.

Alto might be rite but as per my observation most of the cars are equiped with almost same system which is shown in above link.

i have a 2004 cuore eco when i bought the car my a/c was working fine but heater was not working..showed to the mechanic n then found that the heater pipe was d/c from from the engine...so i again connected ..now both r working fine...now the prob is that when i switched the a/c on i feel that the coolong is lowered its performance from before when the heater pipe was d/c??if i d/c again the heater pipe can my cooling performance will be better??

dear bro, i am talking after experince. my car's dash board was dismantled 2 get some heater radiator leakage problem fixed. what i have stated above is correct.

i am having gud Ac cooling but still feel my car is getting more hot, will block the heater inlets with stoper with clamps inshallah soon and let everybody knows........
