Ac smell

My corolla 2012 altis have a strange pungent smell coming out of ac vent. Ac runs fine without until it trips then it keeps on giving smell which disappears after cooling and then ac trips smell cycle reapeats this specially happens after noon when out temperature is low
If i rum fan inly no smell comes
For solutions i changed suspected heater coil as i thought its coolant smell but no use then got whole ac unit serviced still no result already spent 12k on this smell anyone having any solution plz suggest

Could be mould buildup perhaps?

I had a similar issue. Its due to fungal and bacterial growth inside.
Use flamingo ac cleaner pro. Costs 500 I guess.
Directions are given on it.
I got it from here. Its not available now, but it looks like this.
