AC water drain inside Car

Dear Members..... plz help me. if anybody got this problem in santro. I have santro 2004. when i drive it on AC it drains water inside passenger seat carpet. and that area of carpet gets wet. This iz very harmful for the car body. waiting for expert opinions. Regards.

Check for loose evaporator drain pipe. It's a common problem with Pakistan assembled cars.

Whiteangel is right. It's a common problem and is a very easy fix.

correct me if im wrong but that water is a result of condensation.....so it should be pretty clean. Anybody here bottle it and test it? wonder if itd make ok drinkinf water?

drain pipe is either out of place or clogged with fungi,
if its fungus better replace the pipe.

Yes. If you open the engine compartment and look towards the passenger side, you will notice a small drain pipe near the bottom. That is the drain for the evaporator.

Correct and it gets so humid inside the car coz of heat n wetness on the carpet. I have to leave my doors open for a couple of minutes to get rid of it. Also my fan creates a bed smell when switched on at first but after a while it settles down. Experts do you know the reason for this cause.

Wet carpet can cause the smell. Smell can also come from evaporator due to buildup of fungus. In that case you will need to go for AC service.

To prevent growth of fungus always switch off AC a couple of minutes before you stop the car. Let it run on fan and turn off recirculate button to let some fresh air in. That will get rid of the condensation on the evaporator and prevent growth of fungus.

Never ever taste water drops coming out of AC. I read in my AC manual that this water is not fit for human consumption as it carries many toxic elements.

yep just check the AC rubber drain pipe under the dash, it mustve come loose. Put it back in place or replace it. it should be draining the water out in the engine bay.
