I traveled regularly on Lahore-Isb through different bus services for few months and i would usually take a look at tyres while waiting for my bus and 90% of the times i would be looking at totally flat rear tyres. The tyres would have barely any tread left and no tread means aquaplaning! And yes they also overspeed but unfortunately no one in passengers have issue with it.
To make matters worse, new Chinese buses don't come with seat belts. Now i don't blame china for this as those buses in china are used as low speed citi buses so their regulations do not require these buses to have seat belts installed. However in Pakistan, when imported, these buses are used on high speed routes like motorway but our authorities do not force them to install seat belts either. Only Pakistan made daewoo buses have seat belts installed but most are not in working condition. Even after such accidents, there is no investigation or regulations put in to force for these bus operators.
