Accommodation in Islamabad F-11 for single females

Hi all, In my search for reviews for flats for isl sector f11 I came across this website where this has been discussed before. If anyone has lived in one of the these flats, I would like to have your opinion on the environment of the place and how safe it is for women. I might be moving there for work in the next few weeks and having never lived alone in Pakistan, would be great to have some reviews before signing up for the job. Thanks!

It depends on the building you decide to live in. Higher end ones are more expensive, but they have a better environment. The old rundown ones are cheap, but then, the environment is pretty bad. Some of the better buildings in F-11 are Executive Suites, Abu Dhabi Towers, Karakoram Blessing & Enclave, Park Avenue and Hamza Heights.

Well anything can happen anywhere, so it rather depends on you. If you are a confident, strong lady with the ability to defend yourself. By all means, live alone, It is a safe neighbourhood. But if you doubt yourself and your confidence, i would advice you to live in either a hostel or a room mate

Thank you these names are the most useful! I just found out that a friend has lived in isl before so I will check with her too! guess this isn't the right place to ask, lol. But thanks..this was useful.

Thanks dms! Or direct me to a forum on accommodation in islamabad! I don't want to get ripped off by a dealer and second I want a good location. Anyway my friends told me to go for karakorum or savoy. They may be more expensive but better to live in.

The form would be available on Facebook, you can find quite a lot there. Well till where not being ripped by a dealer is concerned, then you need a person to scout first hand or a reliable dealer. I have friends living in apartments in f-11. If you want, I can ask them to check for accommodations. That will of course require your details, how big you want one, how much are you willing to pay, etc..

Sure that would be super helpful! I am willing to pay till 15-20 K-(let me know if that's reasonable). It depends on my salary so not sure yet. I want to share the apartment with another girl or two or even three. I am looking for a social environment where there's gatherings etc. I know islamabad can be cliquey but I am hoping that people in the apartments do mingle with eachother. Not looking forward to a dead place. I want a fully furnished one, with a good kitchen and a lounge as well to host if needed. Can you ask your friends about their experience? And if there are places available from next month onwards?

the definition of shareef is very very relative-i don't know. As long as noone is harming me, I have no problems with what other people do. Arrogance and haughtiness is my main worry right now-I can't stand cliquey behaviour. If I am part of their hangouts but not forced to do what everyone is doing, then its fine. I just want to have an active social life and not be a hermit since I will be away from family.

apartments are kind of notorious mostly (specially in this part of the world). No offense to anybody.

you might be able to find a portion/basement in ISB in 20k but a furnished place is unlikely.

That's not a problem-i can pay more till 35 K but beyond that might be difficult. This is definitely very discouraging though. I doubt I will find a good place otherwise. And moving to islamabad is not just a choice, its necessary. My sister has lived in a guest house and perhaps the nicest, very very shareef person you will ever meet. Thanks for the caution though.

You basically want to blend into a place where there are already girls, that's difficult to do without a reference. I doubt that he can do that. He lives there with his family, the kind of thing you want requires you to first find a group of girls living together and that can only be done by spreading the word. Most people with similar needs prefer hostels, unless they have people willing to stay with them.

Yeah that sounds reasonable-I will spread the word in a week when my decision becomes final and meanwhile look into hostels too. Though I am not sure if anyone I know is staying in Islamabad. My friends lives with her husband in another area. Worth a try though. Thanks!

Be careful with that mentioned group though, even though it's quite helpful at times. It also has a lot of chaska party and fakes so just be careful. And best of luck, hope you find a good locality and enjoy yourself in our little city
