Hope you all are doing well. I am from Karachi and currently own a 2016 suzuki swift automatic with navigation that has done roughly 70k (all driven by me.) I was considering shifting to the accord cl9 as
a) its one of my favorite cars of all time
b) I want to move up to a sedan from a hatchback as I sometimes need storage in my car due to my nature of work (i am a filmmaker.)
Sometimes I end up either taking the equipment with me by placing them in the back seat and trunk or I can take passengers with me. Cannot do both.
This has also resulted in some setbacks as in 2020 as someone broke into the car's back window and took all my filmmaking gear out as i was going back home from a shoot and had to park for 5 mins (my car is shaded but if someone wants to try they can see what's inside.)
My question in general is
a) what is the average of accord in city (dha karachi) i get around 8-9 with my swift and i dont drive with a heavy foot (i mostly cap out at 60 or 80 and try to maintain that speed) will accord give the same or better (i heard ecu reflashing has resulted in some people reporting 10-12 km/l)
b) are parts available readily?
c) linked with b - is the overall maintenance expensive than that of suzuki?
d) build wise is it more robust than the swift
e) does the engine NEED hi octane or can it also run on regular fuel?
Keep in mind ill be selling my swift and get an accord with that money as through my pakwheels searches the car in my condition is more or less going for around 20-22. in which im also seeing accords cl9 selling for. Not interested in the citys or the old corollas as i just cant get to wrap my head around those cars.
Need your opinions as to what should I do?
Major motivator for moving to a sedan is that i have a kid on the way and i want to ensure that the car i have is as safe as it can get
