Accord CL9 New Owner's Thread

I have an obd2 scanner. Temps are perfectly normal after 95°C the fans start and then stop after a couple of seconds. The car engine temps never reach more than 100°C so that fans and the water body along with the thermostat is working flawlessly.

R u using ac and if temp readings 95-100 are with ac on.. Its not in desirable range..with ac on the temp should remain between 86-90 as both fans work ....

Bro desirable range is 90 to 98. If temps below 90 that means the thermostat is missing or is stuck in open position.

Bro the left headlight gets foggy due to extreme heats. Iv not had this issue before. The car is with for more than 4years.

With all the troubleshooting, iv come to a conclusion of getting the radiator opened and get it cleaned desi style as that the only thing iv not done. Maybe the radiator is clogged from the left side as that the place where heat is the most.

If this dosnt work then would get the aftermarket sports radiator for the accord.

The person is demanding 16 for it. Three pieces are painted. 93000km mileage. Lhr registered. And what main items to check engine,abs etc?

Check for its Gear condition...no jerk or hard shifting...check electric for any hugaard... CL7 should be around max14 if its outclass...

WAS, yes 16 does seem a bit high bro. Transmission is a pet problem, so see if you can feel any odd behavior like jerk, shudder, etc. Suspension is a bit hard especially with 17" wheels, and steering is a bit hard too so don't worry. My car does not have many options, but if that car does have them then make sure they work and also that there are no engine codes and check engine light.

Other than that, I can't think of any peculiar issues in my 5 yrs of Accord ownership. It's a very nice car to own.

Transmission is pointed out by rizwan bhai and rahat bhai.
A way to check engine health is to open oil cap and let it rest on the opening while engine is on. If the cap moves it shows engine blow by meaning combustion exhaust coming into crank case. A little bit is okay. But if the cap blows off from its place then it shows engine health is bad.
Also take white tissue paper with you and check engine oil and transmission oil condition and color.
Check radiator and reserve bottle for rust. Sometimes the water pump catches rust if run without coolant.
Check for ac compressor bearing sound. It's a common issue in cls. U might hear a whining on high rpm
Check engine bay for original wiring. U want to avoid cutting and taping of wires
Check grips of various connectors to see if they are intact. Plastic hardens with time and breaks. That will compromise the water proofing of your grips and water can easily enter. Cls give all sorts of errors if water gets into grips /connectors
Better to attach a scanner and check codes. At times check engine light is removed from the speedometer.
Same with vsa. Make sure u test the abs. Cls develop vsa issues and it's a bitch to rectify so sometimes vsa light is also taken out.
When u switch on ignition before starting engine check if all lights are working on the cluster. Engine light oil light vsa light should all come on.
A good idea is to share pics of the car many people can pin point issues just by looking at pics

Seems a neat car inside and out...
Seems some issue of front shocks..or there is a lot of weight in trunk.
Please check in detail for faults as mentioned by Farhat and Shahzad.
Its a CL7, so if all is good...should be around 1350. Its my take.
Otherwise you should look for CL9, have seen lot on PW now a days.
Keep atleast 100k in spare for unforeseen. Many small issues may surface.

AoA Akmal, as far as I know they have different transmissions with different ratios too. Besides, CL9's engine revs much higher than that of CM6 so I'm sure the CM6 tranny would be different.

Asalamualaikam hope you all doing well i own a cl9 2003 since I bought my car it has a little bit of knocking issue when it is in the rest i want to know is it because of fuel quality or because of fuel pump??
