Asalamualaikam hope you all doing well i own a cl9 2003 since I bought my car it has a little bit of knocking issue when it is in the rest i want to know is it because of fuel quality or because of fuel pump??

Waalaikum assalam. Knocking could be due to many factors, but I would look at these first and then move on to other things:

1) fuel filter
2) fuel injectors
3) spark plugs
4) ignition coils
5) valve adjustment

So many things to say about this but short answer is - a couple of car lengths. My CL9 is not a prime example. I reckon a prime CL9 should be dead even with a prime PKDM stock Turbo from 0-140. Beyond that, Turbo would be faster. And in real life, due to stupid CL9 tranny, it would be a no contest.

I have been actively looking for a good condition Cl9 to purchase. Wanted to get some opinions here from current Cl9 owners and experienced folks on following shortlisted ads on Pakwheels to get in touch with and to narrow down the purchase:

Second and third one are the better ones. You’d have to negotiate with them on price. These two seem better options.

First car: This Accord is owned by Pakwheeler @viking85. Scroll up and you can see it
Second car: Car seems a bit fishy. It's raised awkwardly from the rear and has pre facelift front bumper and rear lights while the car is a facelift.
3rd and 4th cars seems okayish but are priced rather high.

First one is a beauty. Owner has put in lot of efforts to keep it in perfect condition. Even a small issue has been replaced with a genuine part. Its with SR. A good car....

Brother i have given a lot of effort in maintaining the car. I started this thread to ask guidance and generate Accord Owners Activity. Each and everything ive done on this car is shared on this very forum with prices and pics. The detail that ive gone through to explain each and everything in this thread might give an idea how serious I am about its maintenance and upkeep. Ive spent around 3 years uplifting and completely overhauling this car.
Car is totally non accidented. Rear shocks are replaced with brand new KYB pair (Post # 389). Complete suspension is overhauled and in excellent shape for last 2 years. (Post #1206).

Brother the comments that you're talking about are actually for the second car on the list and not for your car. I personally saw your car in RWP back in 2018 and it is a very well kept vehicle.

Salam All,

I have always been a fan of CL9. Was a student in 2006 so could never think of buying it but now I am thinking about getting one. I have gone through the prices on PW and seems affordable however in Pakistan it's not just purchasing the cars it's the about maintenance too. I am mainly interested in following:
1. Parts availability and prices currently
2. Regular oil change cost?
3. Other cost if any due to the age of the car
4. Token Tax of the car since it's 2400 cc
5. Which one is better CL7 or CL9 other than the engine difference what are the differences?
6. what are the normal things that are tend to Fail after this purchase like shocks and other stuff that we have to get changed with more than 10 years old car.

I know it's a long list but any help will be great.

1: parts are available in abundance new and old both.
2: Oil change costs are under 5000rs.
3: Other costs depends on condition of car and previous history.
4: Token tax in Islamabad is 9000rs
5: CL9 is better in all aspects
6: Suspension can fail early if car has been used roughly, suspension parts are available new in genuine and japanese else used also available.
Other than that its a rock solid car the K24 if taken care properly can last easily half a million kms. Just use good quality oil and air filters with coolant.

I feel like you have owned accord for a good time...so thought i should ask you some of my concerns...actually i am trying to buy accord cl9 in karachi...first of all suddenly the price have increased in a short time and no one is asking less than 16 here...tho it was available in 10 to 12 even few months ago...i have visited some cars...but everyone is selling it after 8 to 9 months which i cant understand that why everyone who is selling cl9 have only kept it for months only..so i have concern that why is it so...what can be the possible reason behind it...tho the cars are really clean in and out and half self start...cruise is working heated seats...triptronic electric seats...each and everything is okay and there is no oil spills and seepage in under the hood and is asking for 17+ demand...so can yoi guide me wjat are the important things to check while buying cl9 so that i can check those on next visit...and how are the parts prices and what is thr fuel average...will be pleased if anyone can help me out

I've had CL9 for 5 years now. Really happy with it. Quite a reliable car. The only reason one might want to get rid of it is the high fuel consumption. Used car prices have gone up for all cars due to the increase in prices of new cars.

The transmission is a pet problem, so best to look out for any unusual behavior when buying a CL. I can't think of any other 'pet' problems with it. Parts are abundantly available and prices are quite reasonable, nothing extraordinary in my opinion.

I have a 2005 CL9 in Islamabad, week back noticed both ABS and brake sign simultaneously turn on. So took the car to Nazir autos, they checked alarm, turned out to be something related to right brake sensor.
Initially they thought that sensors would be changed but after detailed checkup i was told that car had a faulty ABS unit. They replaced it with a Kablli one, initially seemed fine but as soon as car crossed 70-80 the light would again turn on. Again took the car back, i was told ABS unit wasn't compatible they got another one and replaced it. This one worked fine for a day, had no problems but after a day when i started the car again got the ABS sign. This time the sign is permanent and still to got it checked again.

Did anyone had similar problems with CL9 or is there a chance that problem might not be with orignial ABS unit. Would appreciate if someone can guide me in this regard. I am attaching picture of original ABS unit, the ones they got replaced both have different serial nos - could this be the case? - any one in Pindi with relevant Kabli parts
