Ok. So I'll narrate the whole story. I was getting a good bargain on the car so decided to fly to karachi personally. Landed in Karachi via PIA on thu 10th may. Went straight to the seller's house with my brother-in-law.
Checked the engine first. Saw rust in the radiator. Initially to my horror, I thought it was oil deposit from a leagy gasket. Checked the engine from oil cap and looked for traces of oil in water bottle. Was glad to find none. No signs of smoke from the exhaust.
Exterior needs some work. Window visors are missing. Paint fade spot on the trunk. Car has great looking 17" rims in my opinion. Has a nice body kit. Tail lights look good. Headlights are a bit faded and need cleaning.
Interior is in good condition. Headliner looks absolutely brandnew. Seats are clean and in very good condition. Interior is black. Few things need to be fixed. One of the Mirrors and electronic seats.
Anyways took the car for a test drive. Engine, transmission and suspension all in great condition. However, sound on the initial throttle seems hollow/suppressed (not a clean growl), response was a bit delayed as compared to my previous CL9. But on pressing further it gets going as it should. I think the Cat Con maybe??
Took the car to ACLC for verification (to avoid an incident similar to what happened previously). Car came out clean in all aspects.
Got a local Karachi CL9 mechanic's number from @Rahat083144 , who was kind enough to provide it. The mechanic turned out to be very helpful. He pointed out the same(cat con). I drove the car for the complete day(courtesy of the seller) and returned the car by evening on thu. Was satisfied overall.
Day2: Drove all the way from Malir to North nazimabad in the morning with the paycheck. Paid the seller and took him to the ETO Office and got the car transferred.
Got the Oil and filter changed. Tyres inpected for the long drive next day. Was tense about the risk involved on an unknown used car. Anyways, all the detailed inspections gave me some comfort. Slept very late.
Day 3: Woke up early and was on road at 0600 hrs alongwith a driver. Kci to Hyd motorway was good. Heavy traffic frequently blocked the road trying to overtake each other. This kept on happening throughout espesially Hyd to PanoAqil.
Started hearing some noise from the wheels near Hyd. Was afraid it could be the brake pads. Got it checked from a roadside mechanic. Turned out brake pads were recently changed and in good condition. Noise was likely from the wheel bearing. Anyways kept on driving. Took prayer and lunch breaks in between and took turns driving. Reached Bwp at 1900 hrs. Stayed the night in a prebooked guestroom.
Day4(sunday): Started early. Route I took from Bwp was Bwp-lodhran-khanewal-AbdulHakim-PirMahal-TobatekSingh-Gojra(M4)-PindiBhattian(M2)-Isd.
All Roads were in great condition with just a 2 km under construction patch near Gojra. Reached Isd around 1500 hrs on sunday.
Journey went great. Car performed excellently well with no issues at all. Avg was a bit lower than my expectations.
Kci to Bwp (with AC) was 11.3.
Bwo to Gojra(with AC) 11.5.
M4 it was around 12.8
I believe these readings can be improved with cat con cleaning and routine maintenence.
Sorry for the long read guys.
Car taking a good nap after the hard work.
