Accord CL9 New Owner's Thread

Did a DIY for installation. Took about 3 hours. Difficulty level was moderate.
All stock features are working including Dual climate control and Steering Controls. Fitting is top notch. (There is a gap on top of the screen due to the nav system top panel(clock screen). Non nav panel fits 100%. Ill be getting that once i find time.) Touch screen is very nice and sensitive. No lag at all.
Added functionality that i am getting include USB connectivity, Pakistani radio band, GPS, Internet browsing, Wifi, bluetooth calling, IR reverse cam and a world of Android apps.
Sound Quality is not bad at all but audiophiles may need to add an amp, good enough for me.
There were no install instructions. Had to translate chinese written on wires to understand. End result is awesome, i must say. Loving it.

Uptill now the experience is great.
Sound quality is lower than premium sound honda system but still good enough. Ive noticed a slight dip in sound quality which I might make up by installing an Amp. I have one lying around. Sound would slightly depend on the unit (but not too much difference in these chinese units). Numerous Chinese models available online with variations. 2GB/32GB options are better but more expensive. Mine is 1 GB/16 GB same as factory installed setup in my Civic 9th gen. Now about this device:
Touch screen is excellent very responsive. I'm using Google maps online. Installed Torque Pro OBD app. Both Working great without lag till now. Lets see how it pans out over time. I wouldnt burden it with unnecessary apps as it would lead to lag and issues over time due to limited ram and storage.
Doesn't have a volume knob (has temp knobs). Wierd and inconvenient tuning radio and adjusting volume through touch screen. User friendliness is not as good as the OEM setup. Takes time getting used to this.
But the features it offers, brings the car up-to-date, which I personally find very appealing in the driver cabin.

Don’t rely completely on amp. Its job is to amplify the signal to feed the speakers ahead, it can’t ‘clean’ a dirty source signal. Simple logic of garbage in, garbage out. Besides the audio quality, I’m sure it’s a great update with lots of features. In case you do want better sound, your option is dsp & amp.

adjusting volume through touch screen

1) Is it compatible with the steering-controls?
2) How's the dual-ac function working?

Yes. Already highlighted in post 721 above. Steering controls are working. We have to map the steering buttons as per convenience. I couldnt use the mode button to toggle between radio and Music. So ive mapped it for power on off ( sends the screen to standby).
Ac Controls are completely compatible. All dual Ac/ climate controls are working.

Is that straight plug and play for the cars with Factory TV Navi and Premium Audio? If thats so, you cleared a whole lot of confusion.
Many users and dealers were claiming that this one works with Non TV Nav cars only, one needs to change the grip pin-outs.

Anyways, I've always been curious about its climate control functions as per the reviews of getting stuck/lag, do update on that too after some days of usage.

Did you order it online by yourself or got it from some audio shop? Whats the price you get this one for? And whats the price for the 2GB one?

As for the gap between the clock and the unit, replace the upper clock bezel with Non TV Nav one, shouldn't be an expensive find from junkyard.

Yes I'll replace the upper dashboard trim to eliminate the gap. Shouldnt be a problem. My car actually came with non nav system but the previous owner had installed the honda premium sound nav system. So the wiring had been altered a bit. I belive no major cutting, just splicing. Anyways, I removed the honda nav and plugged in the android head unit. It was all plug and play.
I asked a friend in China to order it for me. The friend brought it here by hand and no custom payment . Got a sweet deal. It was around Rs 27k and received it within a week.
Installed it on my own.
Audio shops were charging around 40k for the same system.
2 GB system is around 40k in China.

And my car gave an average of 10.7 km/l in last tank with ac. on the nav system it showed an average of 11.3. But was lower as per actual.

But refill when reserve light turns on is around 40 litrs.

Home in e 11 to office in blue area and back. Thats the usual path. It is always within the city. But i do have an overly light foot.

Hey, Sharp eyes man . Howd you recognize me??
I was there looking for another OBD2 adapter. None in Saddar which is v.v weird. Apparently the one I have isnt connecting with the android headunits in both my cars: Civic as well as my CL9.
I was excited to get the torque pro displays on the headunit. Wanted the fuel consumption display. Its working on my cellphone but not on the headunits in both cars. A sample below (not mine)

I was standing right next to you there and then saw your car outside. I've heard that pre-2006 cars had a different obd 2 port that is not compatible with the new obd 2 scanners.
