Accord CL9 New Owner's Thread

I have to say this, I ABSOLUTELY LOVE this Accord Community. It's small yet vast and everyone knows everyone else quite well. Plus, this group is exempt from the "book tab ki thi gaari, tdd July ki Hai, gaari kab aaye gi?" (Not saying Kai such questions are wrong) thus making place for real questions, which are discussed in large numbers here.

I am using michellin primacy 3. Soft tyres, low noise, great comfort. Grip is ok.

Which tires would be the best option. Yokohama advan db. Continetal mc5. Good year. Michlen. Soundless and comfortable is what i am looking for.

Me using Advan dB, stock size 215/45R17 which means they are low profile and a bit hard. But they are soundless of course.

In reference to tires; I'm a strong advocate for the Continental MC5's as I'm on my second pair and trust me they'll surpass your expectations.

• Soundless - Extremely grippy (As per my experience on Murree-Motorway) - Beautiful "Continental-Side-Wall | Look's classyAF' - Soft tires (though they're very prone to damage from the side-walls if hit hard on anything). Worth the money - I would always suggest 215/50's over 215/45's as the 50's will deliver a smoother drive on those bumpy roads.

• Passo over a Swift?! - One of my cousins recently imported a Passo and Aqua from Japan, ever since he bought them he's only been driving the Aqua because the Passo is simply that bad. Comfort wise, definitely it's a + but in reference to any power lol - it's a joke, especially a 1.0.

I got continental cc2 for my Prius in 2015. Tyres lasted 2 years 50000 km.

Initially tyres were soft but then got pretty hard after 1 year. All tyres started cracking from the thread side. One of the tyres started getting punchered daily and then we replaced all 4. They still had thread remaining.

This time I got Advan dB. Let's see how they last.

Wow, that's not good. I was contemplating Contis (either CC6 or MC6) for my next change, but may think twice now.

Continental is a German brand and the ones we get here are Malaysia made I guess.

Mine were made in Romania. That's what was mentioned on.the tyres at least.

There is a good year dealer behind Mari gas in g10. He is reliable guy. Abid is his name. I bought Goodyear and Dunlop tyres from him. He has all brands available.

Continental are German tires and the one being imported in Pakistan are made in Malaysia, trust me there aren't any quality issues with them. I've used Continental's on three different cars in Malaysia as well - All performed well, especially in the rain, heat and extreme humidity lol.

I would NEVER in my entire life use pathetic Chinese tires on cars or bikes, absolutely not brother. Safety is number one priority always.

If Conti's aren't your cup of tea, just go with Yoko Advan DB - well-rated all-rounders - you'll get good reviews as well.

Went to kalar kahar/ Katas Raj on motorway. Normal driving style around 300 km on motorway rest on local raods around kalar kahar. All driving with ac. Fuel guage seems accurate. Will get it refilled and calculate the actual tomorrow

Hello Accord lovers,
Came across this picture in my phone and thought I'll share. The CL9 really is capable of decent fuel average, specially considering a 2.4ltr engine. This was probably the best i got in the city and it was over a full week in khi winters (so one way without ac) and off peak hours on shahra e faisal.

I often get this reading on the panel. However, there is a difference of about 1 km in actual consumption and the panel.

Maybe I should consider having a light-foot on the throttle - I've never achieved a 10km/l mileage, like never (within City driving) haha.

I stopped pouring Excellium ever since I've had this O2 sensor issue (check-light), mileage is absolute shit with 290-300KM (reserve light coming on) - Thought it'll be a waste of $ - hopefully I can get that sorted out sooner or later.
