Is this (290-300km reserve light) since CEL came on? What was your routine mileage at reserve light turning on? Coz i was getting the same around 330 in city driving. Short distance stop and go traffic.
Since my last tank fill I've traveled long distance mostly on motorway (around 300 km) i am now at 400kms and still quite some distance to go before reserve light.

Surprising. I don't remember the reserve light coming on before 400kms ever! And the max i have stretched it to is around 500
And of course. Driving style is a huge factor. We once did a day trip to kund malir on Makran coastal (where you can basically cruise at 160 since it's a beautiful carpeted road and na banda na banday ki zaat) but i got an average of only 9.6. The reason I'm guessing was that we maintained speed between 140-160 throughout (with a few moments of touching 180 and the limiter kicking in)

I've exclusively been using Excellium ever since I first tried it, in both Turbo and Accord. Reserve light kicks between 330-370 normally. Drive is mostly stop and go, short trips.

Aoa Guys. I am planning to buy a car in a couple of months. I really like the accord cl9 and i have a budget of 14lakh. Can i buy a good cl9 in this budget? Plus i also like the reborn but i heard k uskay buhat kaam nikaltay hain. Is this the same with accord? And which should i consider? Thankyou

Brother, you've come to right thread and others will chime in with their opinions . For now here's my quick take:

• Yes you can get a pretty decent CL9 in 14 lacs
• I've kept a Reborn and infact kept both CL9 and Reborn at the same time. Yes, Reborn has its set of peculiar problems, but then every car has that
• Do remember, however, that in my experience the cost of maintenance, fuel consumption, availability of parts, etc. is not too much different between Reborn and CL9. Generally people will discourage you from CL9 - of course Reborn is a safe bet as compared to CL9, but do keep in mind that there isn't much difference between the items I mentioned above

My advice would be to stick to reborn......Accord will be difficult to maintain and after 2 years the offers you gonna get will really break your body in a million pieces .Add to that parts of honda can easily be purchased from any honda service centre so if any problem with the car it wont leave you hanging.I remember my accord badge got broken, couldnt source a new one had to buy a cheap replica and CL9 will murder you on fuel avg believe me

Depends on if you want to be sensible or passionate. If your major concern is driving pleasure, its Cl9 hands down. However, being an older car than the reborn, it will have more wear and tear and thus will cost higher in maintainance. Fuel average, well i got 11 km/l on my last tank of cl9 but that included cruising on motorway.

Strange. Mine is around 45-50 liters fill-up after reserve light. If I had a single petrol pump, I would be worried that they are over charging but its the same with multiple pumps.

I've had my CL9 for quite some time now, never had a issue with sourcing spares or anything lol - You just need to know the right places and the right people, like in every other aspect in your life.

• Personally both of them will be old used cars - so why not just go with the better option which clearly is the CL9 lol.

• Never really given two-flying f**ks about fuel mileage, so thats your own personal decision.

• Just remember one thing, which ever car you buy you'll end up dropping a minimum off 1-2lacs easily over the initial year of ownership guaranteed. So if you think spending the initial 14lacs will suffice, that's just false hope brother.

Hi Accord CL9 owners & Salam;
After deliberating a lot over the past few years and saving up have decided to take the plunge and get an Accord CL9 before my OCD for the car gets worse(getting more JDM brochures and magazines :p).

Would like your help if I can be suggested or guided for a good condition CL9 for sale as you guys are owners and may know others willing to sell in Lahore and Islamabad.

Have already posted the same on the Wanted to Buy area on the forums.

Also have queries regarding the below if someone has information for the same:
1. Are new shocks available in Pakistan and complete new Bushings set?
2. Has anyone tried re flashing their ECU's for wider and earleir vtec engagement and better performance(Hondata etc) ?
3. Has anyone tried having their Auto transmission filter changed and switches and what are the costs?
4. Best Engine Oil for the Car; Litres/Brand/type and changing frequency?
5.Transmission oil Litres/Brand/type?
6.And lastly can i swap the navigation and overhead large clock display to Accords without the navigation ?
7.Discs and Pads changing and costs? OEM or Aftermarket?

2. Yes reflash is possible, but Hondata won't work with the K24A3 ECU
3. Yes I've changed the auto tranny filter. Cost me about 3.5k OEM. As for transmission, it's more common for the CL9 tranny to go out rather than specific switches / solenoids.
4. I use Liquimoly and in my experience it takes around 4.3 liters. I've used Liquimoly 5W30, 5W40 and 0W30, but personally liked 0W30 the most.
5. Tranny oil is around 2.7 - 3 liters for one drain and refill. Z1 and DW1 which are commonly available, can both be used.
6. Yes possible but complicated.
7. I've got the discs turned, not replaced. Brake pads I personally use OEM which cost around 15k front pair and 8k rear pair, if I recall correctly.

Was contemplating that since the car is almost 16 years old, will require general maintenance.

1. For the Re-Flash, there are many tuning companies in Australia an UK which refalsh the jdm built Accords with the K24A3 engines: Il post something if i get more info. Im assuming its just a software install and no piggy back chip.
2. Was asking for the transmission queries as came across the below thread on another forum hence the question for transmission failure

3. I was planning to install the ADM navigation, If i get an accord with out the navi installed.The AUD Navi controls and screen will be in English which is cool but might have an issue with the ECU.
4. Turned meaning shaved/ machined ?? Are the rubber brake lines still holding out well ?

1. Yeah reflash is generally not a problem, but specifically Hondata will not work with K24A3 ECU.
2. Transmission is a real issue in CL9, and I've experienced it as well. Engine clearly 'overrevs' before shifting (in all gears) and revs seem to hang about for a few moments before shifting. Acute problems will of course manifest themselves much more clearly, so be on the look out for that. In my case, the tranny filter was severely clogged and after a couple of filter changes and at least 4-5 tranny oil changes, the problem seems to have gone away.

4. Yup, machined. Brake lines are perfect! I even did a complete brake oil flush, as old brake oil had turned greenish. Sometimes flush can produce subsequent leaks in the lines / system. Doing perfectly in my case!

Is the accord cl9 a daily driver? Should i consider it as my personal car and use it on a daily basis?
Further if not then what other good options are available in this budget? 14lakh.

Well, i am using it on daily basis and its perfect. Like any other 2nd hand car, it will take time to set it to your preference. But once done, its a really comfortable drive. What i like the most is that its fun both when you want to just cruise lazily or when you want to go hard on it.

Otherwise, if you want safe options, you can a 1.6 gli. Or A reborn. Or a city. Probably an aqua too.
Fun options are cl9, Mercedes c class. Bmw 3 series. Mark II grande. All these would be around 2003 model. A 2006 or 07 premio as well.
