Been a silent observer on this thread for a while now. Lovely examples of cars being posted along with some good solid advice. Just thought i would share some pics of mine. Its a 2003 CL9 which we have owned since 2007, year it was imported. Over the years its been a reliable workhorse but now slowly its starting to show its age and spends a fair bit of time in the workshop getting its little 'eccentricities' sorted out.
Over the years its had all engine mounts replaced, new shocks (KYB), eaten through 3 sets of tyres, navigation screen replaced due to LCD screen bubbling, new condenser, new headlights and the usual belts and filters. Mostly all of these are consumable items which a car this age requires and its never left us stranded.
I would be grateful if any member could direct me to where i can purchase the original floor mats and wind visors? These parts are non existent practically as everywhere i have gone there is a abundance of all parts of CL9 (from brand new to kabli) but no floor mats and visors
The car is still solid as the day we got it and no rust, given that we practically near the sea. Have cycled through a number of cars in our household, but she is the one which we find difficult to part with, though she is nickling and diming me to death with her frequent part replacements.
Oh btw i absolutely marvel at all you folks getting 10km and above per liter. Since 2007 in karachi traffic, this car has NEVER average more than 7kms on a good day
