Exactly exactly exactly. Same here - stock H1 worked so well, LED is a fail in hi beam. Firstly, of course warm shade spreads better, secondly only 2 diodes in my hi beam LED whereas stock filament is 360 degree and thirdly the LED diode needs to be in the exact same spot within the bulb as the stock bulb for a perfect spread (and that probably isn't the case here). I'm now looking for Philips Xtreme Vision or Osram Nightbreakers, but their longevity (or lack of it) is holding me back.
These fog light bulbs that I am using are perfect though. Super shade and spread. Of course these are not as bright as your low beam or hi beam, but then they aren't supposed to be. What I can confirm is that mine are way brighter than stock fog lamps.
