We had left Kalam at 6 am in the morning and by the time we reached the outskirts of Dir, it was 10 pm. Fawad stopped at the intersection where the Thal-Dir track meets the Dir-Timergarha road to get directions from an old man probably waiting to catch a transport. The old man was probably a pushtoon and understood nothing what Fawad asked. But still they entered into a lengthy conversation. By now I was far beyond tired and took this opportunity to stretch myself by laying on the center of the track. In a minute or two I literally dozed off. Some half an hour later, Tayyab and Fawad woke me up rather hesitatingly, telling me that bed was was not very far away!
