Advice for Audio Setup in Cultus

I have this Kenwood KRC-669 headunit and I dont intend to change it

I have Pioneer Speakers - which i also I do not intent to change in the nearest future..

But now I want to add some bass to my system by a Pioneer 308: But i don't know D2 or D4??

And for that i've heard that I need an Amp too, so which Amp to buy??

I want to do this in a budget of 10K

Woofer, Try to get a Pioneer w307 or w308 d2 in used else

Kenwood 3010= 3000

total 10k. Addup 1.5k for wiring and box, and u r ready to go boom

both are fine, unless you want to fully realize your investment and make every watt out of Pioneer, it is a decent AMP.

Otherwise go for a GTR 2002 Sony, which will cost you 9-10K Rs and another 2-5K Rs for 4 Gauge wiring (branded or unbranded, your choice).

i am a fan of JBL Products

but here in Pak
the JBL quality is that , which wont last longer more then 5 months
, especially with their , Glue on Spiders , Cones
+ their flexible wires as thin ,On peak to peak excursion , due to stress it will break

Still JBL GTO 1202 is best for Sealed Box , not more then 1.5 Cuft , below 350Wrms

How ever their Perfect and great series which i like is
Power Series,Wseries Gti MK I And MK II , Built strong
cost much

Pioneer are sensitivy ON POWER factor
on this sub we should be very carefull , it wont Play for long On over Power mode
Quick Heating as compare to JBL 1202
and its company recommend , now power 308d2 / d4 above 400Wrms
try use amp Below 400Wrms

Pioneer 308d2 are good in strength , but (6 / 10) On Power handling
Built Quality ( 8.5 / 10 )
30~40hz ( 8 / 10 ) in sealed with 300Wrms only
Good SQ
Loud - Ok

JBL GTO 1202 are good in Power handling (8 / 10) on power handling (over power )
Built Quality ( 5 / 10 )
40~50hz ( 8.5 / 10 ) with Ported , Below 400Wrms
Ok - SQ

Actually both of you are right... its no doubt a decent amp, but D2 needz lil xtra energy too i can see that....
hmm.. so im thinking to buy only the woofer from you...

so from AMP please help me choose one for the D2... infact recommend me 3 things:
> An AMP for D2
> Wiring for a Sub+2 Speakrz
> A Shop in Lhr which are not LOOTERZ & work genuinely and demand genuine bucks

Which one to pick from these or any other in this price range

you can also afford a Type S, if you stretch your budget a little.

you should not use 4 channel AMPS to power the SUB, any SUB.

Try this Pioneer.

and good quality stinger 8 gauge wiring, I think it will cost you around 3.5K RS, else if you cannot afford that, get a boschmann wiring kit for 1.5K.

I have used JBL and Alpine in Edmonton, they are from China too, but at least the fit and finish was good.

but MYSTERY still remains on AMP

some says use a 4 Channel AMP and power 2Spkrz+1SUB
some say use a 2 Channel AMP for only 1 SUB

now what to do :-/

Sorry, my mistake, I would suggest a 4 Channel AMP, if you have to power 2 speakers plus SUB.

The problem is 4 channel amps are not powerful enough, if you like bass heavy sound, and want to power the SUB at full rating, you need a dedicated AMP for SUB (mono AMP), but it will exceed the budget.

However I will recommend a

JBL GTO 60.4

OR

Kenwood 8401

OR

Pioneer GM4300F

OR

Sony ZR604

They are the only decent 4 channel AMPs, in this range.
