Advice for Audio Setup in Cultus

but madhouse.. 308 subs are not meant to hit lows...nor they can...they just dont have the Xmax...

so no point in tuning it low @ 30hz...dont ya think ?

yaar actually the recommended frequency for this driver is around 28 Hz but the port size was becoming too long. thats why i chose 30hz.

and i understand what is meant by a vented box but vented exactly how?? and i also did not get this ABCD what A and whats B -- (forgiv me but im a layman when it comes to these configs)

so muje batao idher kiya enter karo height and width and all then i will take the dimensions it generates below and the print of box for the vent too...

but that is only possible once its decided to be 30Hz or ??

vented or ported box means a box with a hole on the same face as the woofer. (can be any other face too but preferably same face as woofer)

This is a picture of a ported box

the port is the small tube/pipe that you see in the pic. iut has to be of the proper length and diameter to give proper frequency.

make sure that the hole for the woofer is not near the edges and the port hole is atleast one port diameter away from the woofer hole

Its almost all clear i'll get the box dezind of these dimensions and sizes from Lasani wood

almost 99% of my box concerns are solved just 2 things left for the box. i was thinking that u have mentioned in the end that:
"make sure that the hole for the woofer is not near the edges and the port hole is atleast one port diameter away from the woofer hole"

and in the picture the port is almost near the woofer hole and is not 1 Port Diameter away.... and considering the dimensions; will it will be possible to give 1 Port diameter distance to both the holes??

Secondly, how to tune the box -- is this a job for the box maker or are they the amp settings?? and what Hz to tune it to 28 -- 30hz ?? or what??

This box pic was just for reference only. your woofer hole will be cut on the face with the two largest dimensions (25x16"). woofer diameter is 10" so u can make the port one port diameter away from the woofer. else make it as far away from the woofer hole as possible

secondly the box dimensions and the port size are used for tuning the box so your box is already tuned to 30Hz frequency. you dont have to do anything in that regard.

at 30Hz it will give you more low end extension but the overall SPL rating will decrease. i can get tuning for 35Hz as well in the night. Fs is actually for free air so i think for ported this value can be different. Bass box pro gives the best tuning frequency as 28.5 Hz so i m still above that.

yara my dimension hmm.. well Cultus car he and its a wooden board which has 1 speaker on each end and then there is the CNG cylinder below.. a Typical Cultus Back with typical straight Phatta... i will get a pic and post it in the evening though!!

yeah 35hz is good.....but yar pioneer d2 is not able to produce low frequencies under it's fs that is 34....coz under fs it does not give sound but just give a beep type noise like dhup dhup dhup...........me and geforce have checked it on my d2 sub............and bro get an l ported box ,not round ported,coz it'll produce port noise........

Yeah ur rite villain its 'L' but round port is easier to change tuning eg: for ur future change in subs (tho ofcourse within 12 inches)

In my info till now, tuning is by the port (length n dia) not da box dimensions once ur done wid da box building according 2 ur car-room and ur thread suggests ur planning to put ur sub over the cylinder b/w da speakers which i doubt is possible wid those dimensions, u might have 2 put it on da rear seat...
