Advice needed whether i should sell my corolla gli e140 10th gen or not?

Hello everyone,

I own a corolla 2009 gli model e140 187000 km on the clock, i have been getting many good offers not from market but from people i know as i have kept my car well maintained and rust free, but it seems the tipping point for me is that sooner or later it may become hard to find parts for this model as its engine has been discontinued by toyota indus and also cvt cars have better fuel average compared to this model as i own another cvt toyota.

Can any experts here suggest whether i should sell it or not? Will there be availability of parts for next 5 years or not?

otherwise there are perfectly fine running 74 model corollas on road . yours is 2009

What transmission are you comparing with a CVT transmission?

Who suggested you shortage of parts for a Corolla

I have owned a Yaris 1.3 cvt for a brief time, and a Belta 1.0 cvt. Both returned 10-11 kmpl max in city driving. I have also owned a 1.3 GLi from 2009, that returned 13-14 kmpl in Karachi city driving. I don't know what you're talking about.

I could find more (and cheaper) parts for the GLi than the Belta.

Yeah its a 2009 model, it wont be an upgrade per say but hovering over cultus or swift, New shapes. But havent researched or compared them both.

Dear comparing it to yaris 1.5 cvt, went on a long road trip on yaris and blown away by its fuel efficieny. Made me question is it even worth it maintaining a car that is in efficient im terms of fuel.

I own a yaris 1.5 cvt and on long route it gave me 18 to 19 average, my gli gives 10.3 in city and gives 13 to 14 on high way. So youre saying there there wont be any issue for parts for the next 2 to 3 years?

If you can afford to, all cars should ideally be replaced at 2 to 3 years or 50,000 kms.

The amount of money spend on replacing parts it's better to upgrade every 2 to 3 years.

Rest if fuel average is your only concern Yaris might be good. But is a down grade from a Corolla.

Add some money from 1.5 Yaris and go for 1.6 L Corolla Altis

You might miss on keyless smart Entry, Push Start and Climate control AC. But eventually a better car

It’s always a good idea to upgrade specially such an old car.

As you already own a Yaris 1.5 then among other new comers, Swift CVT is the most fuel efficient car of Pakistan currently in above 1000cc category. If you want a fuel efficient one.

Beats all the cars like Yaris, Corollas, City Civic etc in efficiency -
If diggi is not an issue can consider it. Though it is smaller in size.

Availability of parts will not be an issue for at least 5-10 years. Your comparison of
CVTs to the traditional auto are a little unfair, since CVTs are great at keeping efficiency at consistent speeds.
If you really want a more efficient car then do get a Swift; a smaller more efficient vehicle will give you that. However, there is no need to change your car if it is running fine. I think you would probably get another 60k km with basic maintenance before some big repair would come.

Yeah, parts for even older Gen Corollas are plenty available. For this gen, a plethora of qualities are available including OEM, Thailand, China, local, etc.

I was getting a good deal and wanted to shift to an 11th gen Altis is why I sold mine. The car had it's problems but I greatly regretted selling it later, even to this day. If I could turn back time, I would have kept the car. I had absolutely no complaints with how it worked or looked.
