Dear Pakwheelers,
AoA
My first ever post here. Thing is, i was gifted a Honda City 2001 from my father. This car has a tremendous emotional value to me, so much so that i can't part with it. To cut the long story short i'll elucidate my concern points below:-
- I have a total budget of 200k and want to make this car almost as good as new (debatable , i know
- Badly needs a paint job, need recommendations for a great paint booth in ISB/Rwp, without breaking the bank. I'll stick with the original silver.
- Engine was replaced in 2010 with a D16 (Non Vtec) as the original motor was not economically feasible to rebuild. It is in awesome condition, took really good care of it with timely oil changes. Mechanic says it is good to go for another 5 years. My question is, will a D17 Vtec Swap (complete with transmission, uncut wirings, ecu etc) give enough performance to justify the upgrade in terms of performance/acceleration? I know you would say what's wrong with the original motor, but a little extra HPs won't bite
My target is to have a reasonably economical car, but should really smoke other stock cars when i want it to.
- If the D17 is not recommended, i will need to find the complete Air Filter Assembly with hose pipe. I have had no luck so far. So is it recommended to install an after market Cold Air Intake instead?
- Best place to buy Front Grill, Front and rear bumper, All four door-glass with channels and metallic strips, Door inner panels, front headlights and rear lights. any brand/shop recommendations?
- Is soundproofing of the car possible? i don't know the technical word for it, but need suggestions on reducing the cabin noise during driving.
- Best place to get the suspension work done.
- Other Info: My daily running is 50kms during times with less than average traffic on the roads. 99% of the times i will be driving it alone. Currently i am getting 12-13kms / liter and i am quite happy with it.
- But above all, any other suggestion from experienced people who have done this sort of restoration in the past and what to look out for
Thank you
