Advice on shifting from LC 90 (prado) to LC 80 ( 1996-7 fesh import)

Dear Friends

A few days back I was almost 100% done to upgrade my 1996 prado to 1998-2001 LC 100 but the only concern is that my use of prado is a bit rough especially on expeditions ( hunting and northern areas trips)and number of tours r around 5 in an year. We pass through narrow tracks, often rub the jeep with bushes, climb on roof with hard shoes, through garbage inside jeep as for Eco tourism I don't allow anyone to through anything out of the vehicle, sometimes drinks fell on seats and in cabin and with this prado I don't bother these things and there is not even a single scratch on prado despite all these carelessness.But with a high end luxury land cruiser with around 4 million price tag, we hav to bound ourselves which i don't want.
My prado has no issues but just for a change after an year, I want to shift to LC.

Another idea which came to my mind today is to go for LC80, usually most 80 series here were imported in their year of manufacture but I need one that is 2006-7 import as it will b less abused.
Need advice from u guys , is that a better choice from Prado . It will b my daily runner + family car+ expeditions in north.i know it would b heavy on fuel but doesnt matter a lot. No plans for hardcore off roading as for that I hav wrangler.

but still m more inclined towardes LC100, its more reliable, durable, luxury, comfortable and slylish looks
Pl also advice if u hav some in sight but should b fresh import and auto.

Your Prado is fine enough. For God sake dont change it. I know U hv spent almost 3 to 4 lac rupees on it to make it a perfect rig. Now its my sincere advice not to change this Prado. Even dont think again to change it
Its my request ti treat my advice as order :('

You cannot find a fresh import 80 series. They cant be imported now. Last time they were imported were mushraf era.. Probably 2002 to 2006.

But still if you have cash in hand keep your eyes open for a super clean 80 series and till you find one stick with your 90series.

Secondly how about swaping the 90 series with 3.4 liter petrol engine 5uz-fe.
Its will be a much better highway vehicle then. Less engine noise bit more fun then 1kz.

Thirdly if you stick with idea of 100 then look for the UN model its pretty basic Lc with 4.2 liter non turbo diesel. About price my guess would be 3million. But its manual transmission

I would advise u to stick to Ur Prado. Cas to told that it is in immaculate condition n u r satisfied with the performance n utility

On the other hand the performance comfort n looks of LC 100 is superb n tempting

Sir, I know it can't b 2012 import but for fresh import I meant 2006-7. Yes will keep looking for one and till then stick to 90 series. In the mean while if u come across one, pl let me know

I m not annoyed with the notice , infact love the roar sound. As everything is fine in the vehicle I can't take risk of swiping engine. Many thanks for ur advice

UN auction vehicle is very difficult to find and usually investors grab them, modify and sell at high price. I was reading in some site that never buy a UN car as they r over run. Still if I come across a 100 series in reasonable price, around 30, there is no second thought

Yes off course 100 series is very tempting, after going through my usage if u still advice this for me , I will blindly buy one.

LC 100 is a superb vehicle for everything you mentioned. Get it if you don't mind getting it abit dirty. if you can't bear that than opt for a clean LC80.

your prado is nimble and narrow compared to 80 or 100 series, this has its own benefits since lots of tracks in north are tight, and wider vehicles make it tough to get through wtihout scratches etc.

80 Series is a very good car. Its turning circle, amazingly, is better than Prado when in 4 Wheel Drive, and even better is its fuel economy. On normal driving, I suppose its fuel consumption should be around the same as for 1KZ. The power and the grip is wonderful. 96 + is a very good choice, and still it is cheaper than a Prado. I would prefer an 80 or 81 series, but not the GX model as I am not sure if it is fitted with the full-time 4WD transmission and the Limited Slip Differentials that are so amazing on the more deluxe models.
Go for a good VX Limited or whatever is the top model. It should not be more than 2.5, I think.
Still, the choice is not easy. 1 KZ Prado is also a reasonable vehicle.

Thanks Ranger for ur comment, I m really in search of 96-97 top of the range model but very difficult to find as I need 2006-7 import.

If anyone convince me that despite my rough use I should buy 100 series and nothing would done to her, I will definitely go for it

i m more interested in LC 100, anyone pl convince me that it is hard vehicle designed for rough terrains, so nothing will happen in expiditions, dont mind sctatches, its part of the game
