AE86 airfilter cleaning and maintanance

I decided to check air filters and found out inner filters have been ruined due to usage of excessive filter oil last year.

Anyway I did some clean up work and plan to use efly to stick both outer and inner filters..

my question is will elfy hold in excessive heat?

Are you currently in LHR? Do you have AC in this 86?

I think ELFY will ruin filters.

Yeah dont use glue , use rubber bands instead

Yes car is tuned on AC. idle is same with AC and without. That was tricky part of tuning for me - tuning without itb cover box vaccum .

Abt the Tie, i wasnt clear enough above - the top of yellow filter is torn, yellow filter goes inside the red filter.

if elfy wont help , then i can join torn foam with "magic" solution the two black and white tube mix.

factory used some glue to fix these pieces of polyurethane foam and recomended UNI oil, and i was stupid enough to take these filters to motorcycle showroom here in Pakistan and guy there oiled wrong. filters got heavy and were torn. I though all these 1000 cc bikes have foam filters and guys there know how to oil ..

I would have just bought 4 of these filters in the pic and then bought Honda 125 air filter foam and zip-tied the foam on these filters.

No, Im not looking for new solution here. Back to the point I did a DIY with a glue solution for time being and will try to buy another set soon.
