After how much mileage mobil oil should be changed

aoa. i wanna ask xperts dat what should be da ideal mileage after its compulsory to change mobil oil. i nrmly chnge it after 3000 km but this time i waz buzy wid my xam so the mileage has now crossed 3600 km since i chnged da oil.will dis be bad for engine?im having xli 2007 n i use shell oil.also suggest me which brand iz gud in mobil oil.take care.byeeeee

khattak3 u can change good oils at 5000km but i dun recommend shell to any1.its totally like u dun luv ur car.avoid shell at all costs.

try ZIC A Rs. 1180 for 3 lit.
ZIC A+ Rs. 1250 for 3 lit.
ZIC HiFlo Rs 1050 for 3 lit.

this is a very good oil which u can keep running for a good 5000km

if you drive the car gently, allow it to warn up and cool down correctly and maintain highway speeds most of the time there will be very little wear to your engine and you can extend your oil life drastically.

if you rev the car hard and drive like a looney (like me in the beetle) then you will be lucky to get even 2000km out of the oil before it starts losing it's lubrication abilities).

may i suggest you swap out the filter this time as well and ensure you use a genuine filter as the cheap ones are NOT good and can cause oil starvation at high revs, as well as poor filtration & leakages.

Remember one thing changing engine oil at a specific time all depends on ur driving style , environment in which ur driving (i.e dusty or clean air)... Before u go for an oil change just check the existing oil .. if the oil is a bit rough while rubbing it means it has alot of dust ...if it its too smooth like u feel like rubbing water with ur fingers then its expired ..
Even the engine oil companies suggest this method and advice that at times u might need a change of eng oil before our recommended mileage or in some cases after ...

well shell is basically a rip off.bcoz its packed and processed in pakistan and u cant guarantee its quality.i have visited caltex oil depos at west wharf.they too r a rip off.i m using this oil for 1.5 yrs.

y sun u go for TGMO-2000 toyota motor oil.tht one is also good.but then again i dun have alot experience with CNG,i presume tht u r using CNG.

i would say 3000 - 9000 km depending on use and type of oil. Also on the condition of the car,engine condition,tuning,environmental and surroundings,usage and driving style,etc.

mineral oils=3-5k KM (mileage)
semi synthetic=5-7k KM (mileage)
synthetic=7-10k km (mileage)

{P.S} Use any oil you trust but do not shift to different oils stick to one and try not to mix oils :S tried that and suffered ...

If u r using any simple miniral oil like shell yellow, red... castrol gtx n etc... soo i suguest u to change it on max 4000 km.... if u r using any simi syenthic oil like.. caltex havoline formula... zic hiflo... shell blue... soo it must be change on max 6000 km.... & if u r using fully synthic oil like ZIC A+ or Caltex Magnetic (Both are best oil in all) soo for these i suggest u 6000 - 10000 kms..... depands on driving conditions...
and 1 more thing if u r filling up ur engine with fully synthic oil so pls must clean ur engine with taking 4 litre any oil which is cheapest like shell red.. or any local golden... total...etc... company oil of 20-50w.. thn mix 2 litre diesel in it completely... and take any local cheapest 2 oil filters...cost for both is rs. 200 max...

thn fit the the new oil filter and fill the mixtute 2 litre in engine... thn run ur engine approx 1 minute at max 2500 rpm... thn pull out the mixture oil from the bottom... thn again do tht same 2 more times by remaining mixture of oil and diesel... bcoz u made 6 litre mixture.. use 2 litre on each engine flash... and pls must not go over 2500 rpm... and 2 min...

after done it 3 times... ur engine will completly clean inside... thn use ur desire oil... but i only suggest ZIC A+ & CALTEX MAGNETIC...

aND If u have much money soo i recommand u ZiC XQ.... This is only and fully synthic premium engine oil... but its too costly like 2500 rupees.. whn ever zic A+ Is for Rs.1650 and Caltex magnetic is for Rs.1850.....

but u can easily run ur car between 10000 - 15000 km on ZIC XQ...

But remember 1 thing tht all its depends on ur driving conditions...

Mobile oil are bogus in Pakistan, not good quality. We change oil in BMW after 10,000 miles and same in my Focus. That EVO I had, Mitsi recommended after 3000 - 4000 miles and you know that car will get thrashed hard out.
