Aftermarket Cruise Control in Altis 1.6 2020

I have just recently purchased new Toyota Corolla Altis 1.6 A/T. Since majority of my travel is on motorway, i wanted to install cruise control in it. I checked from Toyota dealership who are ready to get after market kit installed in my car for 70k PKR. According to them, people have previously installed it and it is safe to use. I wanted to enquire if any Pakwheel user has it installed it in their car. The biggest concern for me is safety since i travel with family. If it is safe, only then i would want to go for this option. Kind opinions requested.

What do they provide in 70K.

I mean, what does the CC Kit include.

They are saying 70k will include everything required for installation & functioning of CC. Since the car's ECU does not support CC, an external device shall be added to transmit signals to ECU (like some kind of throttle controller).

Salam ,I have reference from KSA police on after market cruize control ,Since In KSA many travel a lot in long routes so cruize control is a must .Coming to your point firstly the amount they are charging is very high ,you need to see if your model supports Cruize control hardware wise shouldnt be more than 10 K Rs after market .

Cons : the cases reported are that cruize control after market tends to stuck at times and it causes serious issues in stopping the vehicle so KSA police strongly discourage this practice . Perhaps you can look for used 1.8 Altis with company fitted

The biggest concern for me is safety

Installing cruise control Aftermarket even when the ECU of your car is not supported in not recommended at any cost. It's better to be safe than sorry. So, I suggest you stick with the OEM specifications of your car and don't do any such alterations which you will regret later.

However, for your information, those cars with CC compatible ECUs but don't have the hardware can get it installed with just plug and play, but unfortunately, Corolla Altis 1.6's ECU doesn't support CC.

I did a lot of research on this specific topic as I also own Altis 1.6 FL and the OP also mentioned in his comment in case you missed.

Since the car's ECU does not support CC, an external device shall be added to transmit signals to ECU (like some kind of throttle controller).

and I believe he got this information from the Toyota dealership, so it's good enough for me to be true.

Please dont try such modifications on new car . It will create problems in future. Original car is the best if u want cc too much go for grande then .

I think that you should update the Toyota dealership about this information, because for now, according to the Toyota Indus Motors, the current 11th gen. of Corolla Altis 1.6's ECU doesn't have support for CC.

I suggest not to fiddle with your car. Sell the 1.6 and buy a Grande. Factory fitted equipment is the best.

They dont train their staff. Indus doesnt bother.

Khair i have been working on this CC for 6 months. Kuch hardware ki cheezain reh gayi hain meri uske baad mein solid confirmed baat kar sakta hu k ECU support kar sakta hai ya nai not hawai baatain

As per my info, the same holds true. ECU has to be changed along with new wiring done. And not every electrician can handle this.

And I don't think that an external device can be attached to the stock ECU as advised by the dealership.

Get an Arduino kit.
Tap into the throttle/pedal signal wire. You can change that value to anything and send it to the ECU. Same OEM Cruise Stalk can be used

Its not that difficult to install aftermarket Cruise Control.
Aftermarket hardware is not reliable thats why people want OEM solution

Cruise stalk has 2 total wires. 1 is ground and 1 is signal to ECU. its resistance based so cancel function will have a specific resistance and set or on will have any other resistance value. All that is required is 1 wire and you need to identify the correct ECU pin jahan pe attach karni hai its as simple as that. Masla sirf yehi hai no one knows k konsi PIN hai. ECU mein ghalat pin pe wire connect karnay se kuch bhi urr sakta hai is liye no one takes the risk.

I committed the mistake of buying the pedal before the cycle. But after hearing the need to change the ECU I dropped this idea. So it's lying in my house for some time now.

No brother, I didn't because I think it will be useless without the wiring and connection to the ECU.
