Has anyone had the misfortune to deal with people at this office?
Apparently, my grandmother's pension has been increased and some previously pending amount has to be transferred into her account. But before that can happen the bank needs some letter from the AGPR office (near NIPA, Karachi).
Every time she goes to this office they tell her its almost done and send her back.
When I heard that this was going on, I tried going and they told me the same thing. Now I am pretty sure that they want their cut (chai paani) and then they'll start the process. I didn't hear them say it but people around and outside the office saw me and told me that's only how they work here.
Now my grandmother is strictly against paying bribe/extortion/chai paani to these people although its her money and its not being paid for something illegal.
Is there anyone here who knows someone at the office and can help smooth out things?
It is really frustrating to deal with such people.
