Hello Pakwheelers,
I recently bought a Nissan AD 07/12.
The car whoever checked agrees that it is non-accidented.
After driving the car for a couple days, I realized the suspension is totally messed up.
Took it to a mechanic and got the hissa fixed which was mostly bush changes and steering service.
While removing the steering from underneath the car, they also opened it from the interior to avoid damaging the clockspring, (which they call "Patti").
After all the work was done, I took the car to nearby alignment wala guy and got the alignment done.
Took the car back to mechanic after the alignment and they installed the clockspring and completed their work when I realized the SRS light is blinking fast.
They took an hour or so trying to kill that light by trying different things like turning the switch on/off repeatedly, reconnecting the car battery, reinstalling the steering, clockspring cables etc but nothing worked. The light was still on. It was getting pretty late and the mechanic asked me to leave it for now and come sometime in the morning and they will get it reset by a scanner guy.
I went today after 3,4 days and the scanner wala guy cleared the code B1052 but it started appearing again and again.
They then realized that there is a resistor installed in the cables connecting the clockspring, they replaced the resistor and the light was still there. Not taking the responsibility anymore after finding out the resistor, they unplugged the Airbag cable and light disappeared. This cable was originally plugged in when they opened the steering the first time
As per them, I have a faulty clockspring or deployed Airbag but I'm having hard time believing this because my horn works, the car is non-accidented and the SRS light wasn't there before they opened the steering.
Other than this issue, the car is super smooth and runs great.
Kindly guide if anyone has faced similar issue and how should this be troubleshooted.
Jazak Allah..
